Hey guys
For everyones interest about my recent sale.
Maurice was an extremely well rounded SF, which are bloody hard to find. Ive been doing my market research on these kinds of players all year, and thats what they fetch. I probably did get $100k more than what i thought id get, but thats just luck.

Here are his stats for those interested.

JS - Prolific - JR - average
Outside D - Proficient, Handling - Mediocre
Driving - Prolific, Passing - Strong
Inside Shot - Proficient Inside D - Proficient
Rebounding - Proficient SB - Awful

Fact is, is that he was a very well rounded small forward, which are extrememly hard to find. Im currently trying to find an upgraded version of him and current market value of a guy similar but $5k more in salary, is around $1.5m starting price. And the market has been like that alllllllll year. cause ive been trying to find a good time to buy similar player all year, and they havent been going down in price :(

Anything over Proficient in both OD/ID and IS/JS is always going to fetch good $$, simply because very few players like this exist. Currently, given those 4 skills, and the levels that Maurice had, there are only 45 players on the whole transfer market for sale. and if you search for a salary less than $25k, only 11 players.
Throw in the Strong passing, and prolific Driving, and you have a pretty bloody rare player.

no offence but that players worth about 300k at that age and that potential.

these are the over payed sales that get reported all the time because silly noob players buy them for dumb amounts , you can get a much much better plaer for 500k let alone a mil

no offence taken, and your entitled to your opinion, but like i said, ive been doing this research all seasonand thats what the transfer market pays for him.And it actually isnt noob players, because ive seen majority higher division teams buying these types of players.
Sure there are always the bargains to be had, and these will always occur.

Am happy for other people to do their own research and show me otherwise.

dont make me post my spreadsheet! LOL

yer but the issue with getting an unrealistic sale like that is it breaks the competitiveness of the game

thats why if you think you got an unfair amount for a player your supposed to report yourself doing this lessons the blow you are given apparently when the gm's come knocking.

haha ok ok, i wont get the spreadsheet out. its got pie charts and everythin!

ok the best example is current transfer market.

just do a search on ID + IS + OD as minimum Proficient ansd salary < $25k

thats pretty much my research all year. I totalled 36 sales above $700k of that criteria all season to 'good teams', plus another 9 sales to what u would call 'noob' teams (plus i ignored some other factors, such as age, injured etc)
My personal needs were a bit more specific, so sometimes id filter on passing/JS etc.

its something ive realy only learnt this season, is how you can get 'good value' players. I noticed it last year with Geelong Vipers, he had 3 centres in his starting 5, playing C, PF and SF, but two of them had salaries less than $25k. So I started looking into this kind of player, and realised that guys with low salary, but evenly spread stats, sell for lots, and are also great players. Plus they have a low salary, so you get a much better return.

which kinda makes sense, because really, the salary to sale price ratio is not linear at all. Just cause a guy has a $100k salary, doesn't make him a better player than the guy with a $50k salary, and hence, his sale price should reflect this, but then the transfer market is a bit funny sometimes.
and the phenomena is even more so with the SF position, because you can train some of the primary skills, and as long as he is still classified as a SF, his salary doesn't take a big hit. Maurice was like this, i popped him driving X 2, JS, Handling last season, and his salary only went up $3k over the off-season.

anyways, happy to talk about it more with anyone if they are interested.

while i agree with about 90% of this , ur player sits in the area of well rounded but no where to go as his too old n has no potential anway because of this he isnt worth that much , a refined search would show this.

the few examples left would be explained via noobs , retiring teams wasting money n not that im suggesting you did it in anyway illegal transfers between 2 teams. theres a bunch of vet players that watch the market closely and report these type of grey area deals.

its this kind of result which tends to make me want to leave this game. ever since they "updated the game engine stuff like this happens randomly"

http://www.buzzerbeater.com/match/39666737/boxscore.aspx

vio fouls out in the third and im up , from that point on his team is unstoppable and only my gaurds shoot the ball
