Its was a long time ago back in 2001. The whole point is you need good players to win a championship. LeBron had players in Cleveland but he had better achance with the heat because of wade..

Like said before dwade had a old team of vetern former allstars and won a championship. Doesn't matter who you have its how you play with them

These two points seem contradictory to me

Ok, so nobody has won an NBA championship by themselves...

Hakeem Olajuwon 1993-1994 Houston Rockets. No starpower besides him. Led team in Points, Rebounds, Assists, Steals, and Blocks. If that's not 1 guy winning a Championship than what is?

Point 2
D-wade won with all-stars past their prime...

Let's compare starting line-ups AND bench shall we?

2006 Miami Heat
Gary Payton (Age 37 in 2006 playoffs)
Dwayne Wade (Age 24)
James Posey (Age 29)
Udonis Haslem (Age 26)
Shaquille O' Neal (Age 34) Still Averaged 20 pts and 9 boards a game

Bench:

Miami
Antoine Walker (Age: 29) DEFINITELY not past his prime
Alonzo Mourning (Age: 36)
Jason Williams (Age: 30) Not past his prime either

NOW let's compare Lebron's 2009-2010 Cleveland team with Jamison and O'Neal

Starters
Mo Williams (Age: 27)
Anthony Parker (Age: 34)
Lebron James (Age: 25)
Anderson Varejao (Averaged 8 points and 7 boards per game) (Age: 27)
Zydrunas Ilgauskas (only averaged 7 points and 5 boards per game) (Age: 34)

Bench:

Shaquille O'Neal (Age: 38, thats a HUGE DIFFERENCE from 34 and only averaged 12 points and 6 boards a game)
Antwan Jamison (Age: 33-34, only effective in Washington)
Delonte West (Age: 26-27)
Jamario Moon (Age: 29-30)
Daniel Gibson (Age: 24)

This is exactly why age not only matters, but is the MAIN FACTOR! Im sorry, but you have to be freaking kidding me when your going to ACTUALLY TRY to compare the 2006 Miami Heat to the 2010 Cleveland Cavaliers. Shaq could still average close to a double-double when he was in Miami and 34 is not very far past your prime. Antoine Walker was IN his prime. You start to quickly deteriorate in skills at about 35-37 depending on the player. IN Cleveland, Shaq couldn't start over Ilgauskas...ILGAUSKAS!

Face it, Cleveland never surrounded Lebron with talent that was capable of winning a Championship, so he went to, ironically here, Miami.

Stats courtesy of Basketball-Reference.com

P.S. I've never seen a comment so stupid in my life as "Lebron had all star on his team... doesn't matter If they past their prime".......what.......What.......WHat......WHAt..........WHAT!!!!!!!!!??????????? SO Shaq at 38 is as good as Shaq at 25? Bird at 35 is as good as Bird at 24? Olajuwon at 37 is as good as Olajuwon at 26? Thats what your basically saying. Can't even take your argument seriously after seeing that comment.

Great post, although one could argue Antoine Walker was never in his prime, unless you're talking about him spending money quickly!

If you remember me, then I don't care if everyone else forgets.

Do you realize what you just said. Only CHAMPIONS get rings but NOT for participating in ASW but for winning CHAMPIONSHIPS

I concur and gave a +1 myself, but you should be careful lest this be taken as a stealth Lance Armstrong endorsement, which as we've seen is highly frowned upon in this thread.

this is your all biased feeling which I cant get into because it leads no where.. the whole point is they had all star help, not if they where any good at age 100. No man has won nba championship by himself.

the houston rocket had clyde Drexler those years he is in the Nba hall of fame and was nba allstar that year. they had a very good cast of players, sam cassel, ,Mario ellie. robbert horry. Kenny smith. a legion of great 3pt shooters.. All of them were staters in their carreers in the nba. hakeem "the dream" didn't do it himself.. Michael Jordan lead the bull s in almost all stats,, he didnt do it by himself he all star talent around him.

The point is LeBron had all star help not if they where any good in your own opinion. becuase he went to 2 championship with Cleveland and thay help you said that 's no good.. he didn't do it alone that is highly false. Kobe didn't do it alone either . The both had help, doesn't if you personally think they are no good.

Dirk had 40 yr old Jason kidd get him a ring.

All of them were staters in their carreers in the nba careers.

Every team has to have 5 starters. Hell, even Charlotte has to have 5 players deemed as "starters" that wouldn't make many other team's benches.

Kidd had Dirk get him a ring you mean.

Thanks for the laughs again.

No. I didn't asked for your opinion. Show me some bobcat players who back to back championship rings with Houston rockets ? Not every player can start in the nba and is a caliber starter.. you know that right?? keep reaching.

And dirk didn't win a ring till J kidd came back to dallas. Fact# when he left how many rings did Dirk get.? Didn't they get destroyed in the playoff without Jason kidd??

Yes thank for the laugh... tell me another.

Jason Kidd wasn't the only guy that helped Dirk win a ring. Tyson Chandler, Jason Terry, Shawn Marion and J.J. Barea were most of the supporting cast that contributed. Then Chandler and Barea left, and the rest is history.
