I could argue you can train from EBBL too (Muse has done it with Tansey) but that is even harder and definitely not possible to train 2 players from scratch.

By the way I have trained both Tansley and Pattison (and both of them could reach NT one day) since their 18 yo and I've never been in danger of being relegated.

The main problem I see for England is its lack of teams which train english players for NT. Actually, there's only two: Tide of fire's and mine.

Our NT is becoming old, especially on PG/SG position whereas our SF position seems pretty weak (except for Marshall). If we want a strong NT, only MVP, HoF and ATG potentials (and some SP amazing 18 yo) must be kept in the database and followed.

Moreover, keeping 33+ yo in NT instead of promoting young and a bit weaker, but still in progress, players can't encourage managers to do sacrifice for NT.

NT is a question of balance between experienced players like Marshall or Simpson and 24-29 yo players who are still trained. Don't forget future generations ;)

I am more than up for the challenge of training NT players in the future if I can get my hands on one that will fit into my team well and is worth the price I'm paying and I'll be looking for that trainee straight after the draft commences.

And as someone commented (maybe Gully), at least this thread has shown there are a few managers out there willing to train for NT and produce players that can not only be competitive and beneficial for our team but be regular figures in the NT line up.

I think you're post comes across as slightly arrogant....especially given it takes so long to produce a high quality player, how can you be so dismissive of all the other trainers?

You may be the only trainers with current NT players in training. That doesn't mean others aren't trying to do so too.

Just by reading this thread you can see trainers who want to produce players and with guidance and support there may be a greater pool of talent.

Given the long term nature of this game though there won't be much benefit to NT from any such group for 6-9 seasons so any discussion needs to take this into account.

As you and Gully have said lots of managers getting involved can only be a good thing.

You are right about current NT training as well, would be great if lots of people were training the top level guys but realistically there aren't that many English teams that can eat the salaries and transfer fees especially if there is a cheaper foreign guy on the TL.

If my arena had an extra 5k seats, I wouldn't care much about spending the extra money. As of now the benefits of a lower purchase price (and building arena with the savings) is just too much.

I'm not going to quote the part about only you and Vecx training players for the NT. I find the comment so silly as to be irrelevant.

I completely disagree with this. So much that I'm not going to give it another thought.

The main problem I see for England is its lack of teams which train english players for NT.

This I do agree with. However, its common knowledge.

I feel ya Lemon.. I'm still $3,000,000 off a maxed arena (not that i need it in my league to be fair)

To stay on NT topic I have to say the u21 guys have been really good this season got a training plan quickly and a check up message since. Worth applauding because it must be a pretty thankless task..

I wouldn't want to put anyone off, but having worked behind the scenes with previous u21 coaches, I think theirs is a harder job than mine. And yes, its a thankless task. They have to run the team, pick the squad, deal with the players in the squad, they players for next year's squad, then the 18 and 19yos that are possibly for the next coach's tenure.

Oh, not even mentioning the messages they send out and never get a reply.

wow

WOW

i thought someone else in the EBBL is the most arrogant and ignorant person in the EBBL, guess I must have been wrong... I really rated you very highly as a person and as a coach. The only thing I can think off for you to come out with such a bold statement is that you must have been drunk or so, when you wrote this...
