I did my job by winning my last game at home against Obira as expected, but it turned out to be not enough as Dartreb managed the difficult task to win his last 2 games of the season by winning away at two difficult opponents. Really impressive, especially since Dartreb won the games so convincingly. So if i would ever reach the finals against Kelmis - which is no guarantee at all - i don't have the HCA, which is an important factor.
But at this point, we are standing just before one of the most open playoffs ever in the BBBL. There is no guarantee that me or even Kelmis wil even be in the playoff finals. There is really no real favourite this time, and i see most of the playoff teams capable of winning the title this year.
I immediately have to start the playoffs with probably the most difficult game/opponent i could have, cfr. Paros Bulls who already has won the cup this season. This will without any doubt be a very difficult game for me, as is proven by our match history between eachother.
Almost every playoff team is capable of reaching the finals, the teams ar so close to eachother that anything can happen really.

I had little doubt you would take it against Obira :)

I can hardly believe you did 7/7 on the second leg of conference games. That's really impressive, because the blue side is stronger than the red one.

On the other hand, even I'm am pissed as f*** over Penko's injury, if we are to meet in the final, my chances are better with HCA without Penko than playing away with him.

Now, I have to very carefully plan my first round of play-offs, while it is clearly not as hard as yours, I still have to be cautious.

So lots of drama and stress tonight and at the end only home wins...B

Very good performance from YCH, TUM and TRA, almost huge upsets!

All the games were remarkably close with the exception of eagles- cows where the big favorites destroyed the pathetic opponents by double digits In the last minute when the going gets tough you know you cannot count on certain teams! Bravo to Soltys for making all the wrong decisions!

Quite happy with my win but still a lot to be done and I hope I can sweep the series next Saturday, I would prefer not to have to play Falco in a decisive game his team can do much better than tonight!

What a stressful evening.

Props to Tumas, I was so confident when I saw the tactical choices and it turned out to be a fight to the bitter end. And almost went mad when Renard got injured in the end ! (I would have replicated this season's GSW playoff run)

In the end, all home teams won ... but no walkover indeed.

I've noticed last night all the home teams won. HCA is a big advantage and could very well be the determining factor in these playoffs and playdowns, because most of the teams are so close to eachother in terms of strength.
For me, it was a very close and thrilling game against Paros Bulls - as expected - but i'm happy with the way my team performed in "money time" against one of the most difficult teams to beat in the BBBL.

Well.. that was a pretty bad risk to take.
ychonodou played 17 out of 22 games inside this season and he only won 1 out of his 5 other games. I was not really comfortable with my current game shape, so I had to try and take a risk. I know 2-3 zone isn't that great to play, but I tested this in my last game against Eagles, and it worked out pretty fine imo. Luckily I still won the game.

Joe,

I agree with what you said before. Playing a 2-3 zone defense is almost always a bad idea, no matter the tactic of the opponent. With a 2-3 zone you are giving away a lot of outside space to your opponent, and in most cases it's deadly because your opponent can build up pressure or build his attack in a structured way from the outside.

grtz,
Eagle
