Yea, that's why I agree with the moves the BB have made thus far. By keeping the good players from disappearing during botification this will speed up the maturation process for the game.

As a nice side effect the flooded transfer market has made prices more reasonable so that for the first time since I started half way through last season I can pick through and try to improve my team.

You discuss the top of the iceberg. You belong to the few that started when the competition was weak. We who are just at the beginning in BB (and often have established a well functioning HT- team), meet harder time here than in HT. And I guess harder than in the beginning?
First of all; after been reading through all the rules, it is hard to find out when and in which amount the income will come. (Look how many that do not know that SC-matches do not bring money.) So little to read about how the staff will be presented to you. So little to read in the rules to bring concise help over all.
When discussion comes to "lower part of the iceberg" where so many players give up so soon, it is easy to think that "let them go" because new once will come.
These huge crowd of interested BB-players are the real future for this game. It is we who buy all your second best players. It is we who fill up the leagues at the bottom with life and prosperous joy. Please be nice to us.
And it is fair to compare BB with HT because the intention must be at that level.

I like the game, but I do not like the situation my team is in.
We are running out of money. The changing of the staff is so expensive, it is at no use. The income from the matches is not like I thought. And as I started just after a TV-match there is very little to do to adjust the situation.
And (as you now know) three other team in my league are given extra players for free. It is time to look at this game with new eyes from the bottom! Thank you for keeping out with me and for reading all this!

Just as a note, you might think it's hard on you now, but when the first teams signed up, they didn't get the 50k bonus for the first month. Chew on that, and tell me if you still think new teams have it harder.

Nope they didn't, but they are making that up by being in higher division than we are.....

That's true, but you will get the same bonus as new players from now on as well as be in a higher division than someone who joins 6 months from now. Pretty good for all the people joining now.

Yeah ,every new team from now on are equal... financially wise. They still get a random generated team however.

I actually think teams joining later will be at a pretty big disadvantage financially. By getting into the game at an early phase there are some pretty big advantages.

For one, with so much player turnover and vertical compression, it is much easier to promote now than it it will be in a year or so. I started halfway through last season in Div. IV and I could possibly be in Div. II next season without ever having to win a championship.

I don't have the whole picture on how the top teams having loads of cash was breaking the economy. Seems that they would have only remained at the top as long as they could win in the top division, afterwards they would go down to a 2 and get D.II style attendance and alot of empty seats, reduced income with higher salary players.

My view was that if they were good enough to stay, they would have stayed and with time the league would have matured.

As is after the all star break is going to be interesting to watch how fast toons pop, how fast salaries go up across the board and how that will affect the entire community. Ive stated my view that I am not in favor of some of the changes because I think it will reward teams based on where they are, not on how well they have managed.

That opinion being stated (and stated and restated by myself and others and rebuked and rebuked by others) the changes are still coming, so maybe while it seems that the player base is captivated by this discussion I can bring up what I think might be a bit of a larger issue and thats the attrition that led to all these teams becoming botified.

My bracket in my division has been a large let down. My D.IV bracket had more active teams and it made the game interesting. As is my entire side save one team has been botified this season and Ive had two games I looked at so far this season that I didn't expect to win.

The turn over has been huge, does anyone really know why? I think the game is fun so is it lack of good information to start with like the other guy said?

I know this is starting to get off topic a bit but this topic is kind of burning itself up with people (myself included) only able to make theories on how this will affect the game.

Perhaps leagues themselves can get volunteer mentors who introduce themselves when a new team gets introduced and offers starting advice and answers questions relating to the sometimes enigmatic rules page.

Just a thought but I do know of two guys who work in the same office who got into the game after I had mentioned it, one got advice from me regarding the game and his team is doing well, hes made smart roster moves and is still in the cup even though its his first season as a player.

The other guy didn't. Picked up staff he couldn't afford, sold players he should have kept and expanded his arena which has financially hamstrung him. Hes in a heavy losing record and only his rivalry in his league with his office partner has kept him interested. I've spoken with this guy and competed against him in fantasy football and hes not dumb at all, it just shows that extra knowledge at the very start of your experience can change how your season goes.

Just food for thought and apologies to anyone I insult by changing the topic in a thread to something that might have more meaningful discussion that helps a game we obviously care about.

we are losing about 50% of users we bring in.... this i think is a reasonable number actually.. but because of the big influx of users, 50% of new users is a sizable portion of the actual population so it hurts more. As we stop growing as quickly proportionally this will improve. You will get put up in a division with more humans next season so its a temporary problem.
