ok The game has chemistry elements and also you can put a player on another player.. It has to have some kind of solo AI on players if they going by stats and allow personilized matchups with Gameshape , stats , mood , team chemistry.. if it not Ai then its Si( symmetric intelligence).

which mean the players do have a way to play within a role to the team and tactic set within their ability which is pre done before the match. and we see the results later in the match. SO im not really far off with my theory just in wrong area of thinking. player do have mood or the team does which I think give the a certain player a advantage over another player who might be in lesser mood or his team.

which might lead to better shot blocks for the player

BTW, what kind of offence would be affected the most by shot-blocking?

Jump shot or Inside score? Would higher jump range overcome the effect of shot-blocking?

Did anyone start training shot blocking now and look forward to next season?

I don't thing they are going to juice the skill of Shotblocking, I think they are going to add more SB/shot altering chances in the GE. Maybe more weak side help on lay ups or dunks. Maybe it is their way to beef up 2-3 zone. I guess we will see...

Well, if that is the case, I still think ID will be the main IS shot stopper. Some people were talking about bigs with 12 ID and 16 SB, I would still rather have a 16 ID 12 SB Big. I guess I am glad they are not JUICING SB as a skill. I really like that they are only adding more situations where a shot can be blocked. That only means some teams just need a SB tune up instead of a SB overhaul.

Isn't shot-blocking cheaper than ID? Money-wise, 12ID 16SB would be preferred.

BTW, does SB mean anything in terms of offence? In NBA, those can make monster blocks are always good dunkers! Check out Shannon Brown and Nate Robinson in NBA.

Yeah, they are monsters on defence. Did you check your info before you post it? You need to do it immediately. They both have less blocks in career than Joakim Noah in 1 season.

12 ID + 16 SB is a lot cheaper, but it is still D3 level defence.

shot blocking is emphasized against some types of inside shots.

If this is the case, and ID is still the main skill used to stop ALL Inside shots. Why would you only have a 12 ID? The 16 SB wouldn't even help stop 50% of the Inside shots. I could see a 14 ID 14 SB, but I still think a 16 ID 12 SB would be best.

my guess is that shotblocking will be more effective against guards driving to the hoop, and marginally more effective against bigs trying reverse layups.

my guess is the intended effect is to make guard skill builds emphasizing IS, driving and OD less effective and have an implied effect that guard skill build becomes more about offering an outside shooting threat.

This is enormously difficult to get right, and all credit to them if that is what they are trying to do, and they get it right.
