In other words, if you're finding that your 2-3 zone is being torn apart by a point guard getting to free throw line, forcing the shot blocker to come out and challenge him, then slipping a pass to a cutter for an easy bucket, that's really not the shot blocker's fault, at least not unless you'd rather him give guards open 10-footers.
How about putting in a calculation there over whether there will be an offensive charge, and players with high shotblocking will have a better chance of drawing the charge I guess relative to the opponent's handling and driving? If the chance of the offensive charge is already there (because I have seen a number of offensive fouls lately), you could just increase the probability for those with high shotblocking. I've always thought of the shotblocking skill as help defense, and this can represent an important element of help defense.

On a side note, while I think a change to the 2-3 zone would be nice, I'd really appreciate that any changes be made with at least a season's notice. So if you plan on making changes, please annoounce it in the offseason and wait 'til season 18.

According to the salary calculator I use, player 1 would have a salary of $339k, and player 2 would have a salary of $182k with all other skills at atrocious.
A better comparison may be player 1 (18 IS, ID, RE and 7 SB), to a player with 17 IS, ID, RE and 13 SB who would also have $339k salary, or if you want higher SB, a player with 17 IS and ID, 16 RE, and 15 SB who would have $340k salary.

Heathcliff Attackers needs a Rajon Rondo or so, because his offensive movement isn't great.

The situation you described is precisely what 2-3 is designed for.

Am I to understand that the "2-3 is broken" argument is centered around the concept that 2-3 should work in situations it wasn't meant for?
