It's a different BB world out there. You could still probably assemble a roster of solid young players, top off their training for salary efficiency, and be a new-age NBBA mainstay in the 3rd-6th place range, but why would you want to unless you're one of the rare people who takes pride in consistency and longevity?

This is what I struggle with. I want to be competitive and have a sustainable team year in year out. It has served me pretty well my entire career so far. I have never promoted before I was ready to be competitive at the next level. This was due to mainly training and managing my economy so when the conditions were right I could make a push.

That said, the training component is incredibly difficult in the NBBA. I am training two guys with varying levels of success and they are at least contributors, but in a couple seasons I will have to turn over 3/5 of my starters. I am not looking forward to that.

Damnit, did you have to do it right before I played you?

Looks like someone plans on making a run at Delta 9. Expect me to make a countermove.*

Visionaries gone

I always felt like his troubles were self-inflicted. He'd be doing alright with a serious team that was a threat in every game, but instead of tweaking his roster he'd get impatient and blow it all up.

It was never good enough for me to be "a threat", I only accept dominance or a vague future plan of dominance.

The second thing is a lot easier to do!

Edit: In the instance you point out, I actually came to feel that Calum had made the same team as me but better. I was at the end of my training cycle and didn't think I was going to catch him so I blew it up. Then Calum won the league title three years in a row so I pretty much feel like I made the right call. I'm 3-11 against him lifetime!

Second Team:
Euphoria Seekers
I'm in 1st, but it won't last. Lucky win vs. Toronto and Bullish is better than me. (not to mention a couple others)

Kudos to the teams that have been able to stay in the NBBA for multiple seasons, like 10", Tech Fouls & Rocket Science. I'm still a newbie

I put the blame for that purchase squarely on Hassan for starting all of these discussions about NBBA longevity, winning, tanking etc. j/k :) I was sitting pretty near the top of the conference with over $100K weekly + CUP but I couldn't answer a simple question ... what do I want to do here in the NBBA? Most of my roster are old guys and the rest are not that far behind. I could easy stay competitive with these guys for the next 2-3 seasons, build up a large bank account in the process and then slide down to start all over again ... but what is the fun in that? I have a small window with this group and I figure I just go all out now.

But why couldn't you make big splashes AFTER tonight? Now I'm the unfortunate first victim.

Hehe definitely was not targeting you with that timimg. Actually, I'm kind of upset about that whole thing. He was up for $1k (if i remember correctly) last week and nobody bid. When he came back on the TL, I thought I could get a real good deal. Next thing I know, I was in a bidding war with a guy in Japan ... Could have had him for a bit cheaper had I have the patient.

As for today game, I don't think you have much to worry. HCA is still king in this game plus my GS in general is bad this week. Not sure how that PL game was won. I get the hunch PL GE is not the same as the regular league game GE. Do you get that impression as well?

You know, guys, I've felt for a long time that the PL uses a different GE. OTOH, most of us play TIE for most of our games and my guess would be that the PL games are played with "normal" effort—and that would probably give a significant boost to ratings. Just a guess though...

The ratings don't change depending on what effort you use, but if you TIE on Thursday, your PL game on Friday will be about the highest enthusiasm you can have since it's only got one day to drop.
