houston is that badly in need of a C? hasseem thabeet... Yao was bigger and more dominant offensively and they didnt even get into the finals... now they are taking up a project?

but to be fair, some people may be overrating Shane battier a bit since he is not much help on the offensive end and defensively people are giving him abit too much credit especially he doesnt have much athleticism.

If you can do one thing really well you will find a home in the NBA - Jimmer can score in bunches. Don't know home many BYU games you've watched but he actually creates his own shot pretty well and can get to the hoop.

I think he's a better shooter & scorer than what Reddick was when he came out and i think his career path will be similar. Picked in the 10-15 range, a season or two of adjustment & then a solid career as guy who spreads the floor and gives some scoring punch off the bench.

I have a feeling Jimmer will struggle in the NBA like how Reddick struggled in his first few seasons until he stepped up his defensive abilities. So if Jimmer doesn't develop on the defensive end he will not do as well as Reddick since he will be a liability on the defensive end... remember Adam Morrison? =P

Reddick broke most scoring records when he was in college but the NBA has a ton more defense and lock down perimeter defenders in it. Also Aldridge wasn't as good of a scorer in college but look at him blossom now in Portland. Chicago must be spewing for giving him away for Tyrus Thomas.

also he doesnt have really good passing ability... at 6'2, he would be majorly undersize to play at SG... so he is a combo guard who will struggle to start at PG unless he can improve his passing ability or he is in a team like the heat but too bad his defense isnt that good.

yes he is a guy who can spread the floor, and thats about it... I dont think his handles will be good enough in the Nba, sure against college guys but not against NBA guys when they much faster and even if they fall for your move, they recover so fast...

his range is pretty limited, I think... NBA 3pt line maybe just in his range or even comfort zone beyond that I have not seen him hit very often... considering guys like eric gordon and JJ reddick who doesnt even go near the college 3pt line and just sink it like nothing.

have you seen JJ reddick? he just catch and shoot from way outside of where the NBA 3pt line should be (contested) and just swish it while he was in duke... reddick have major range and a mid range game to boot.

Jimmers range is ridiculous - he regularly drops shots from 6 feet behind the arc. That said i agree with the lack of size being an issue.

From what i have read alot of people are comparing him to Mark Price with better range. His game was good enough to make him an all star in the early 90's from memory but how well it would translate in todays game remain to be sen

remember 6 feet behind college hoop is just on the NBA 3pt line... Im talking about way beyond range like reddick or even duhon when he was on a streak...

but we wont know unless he start playing but if he has passing ability like curry but failed to show it since he gets too much freedom then he can be a good player. but then his lack of speed maybe a problem as curry athleticism is much better. so his best comparison is to a lesser reddick with less range and maybe more passing ability.

Haha i dont know what college ball you've been watching but the NBA 3pt line is not 6 feet further out than any other basketball 3 point line in the world. A little further, sure but nowhere near that much.

I was replying to a statement that you made. You're the one that used the 'feet' metric......
