I won't underestimate my next cup opponents !!! So it's impossible for me to risk a TIE, I don't want to live BoD desillusion ...

hey com'on guys !!

I didn't underestimate him, you can see that in my post I had the day before the cup.

If I had internet connection I would have played 3-2 zone, motion and normal. I didn't want to take risks, I wanted to win the cup.
My enthousiasm was already so high I wouldn't have a real advantage in the future from playing a TIE that game anyway. It was just a very sucky moment I coulnd't access my line-up.

I'm not going to keep whining about bad luck week after week, so please don't say I made a tactical mistake, or underestimated anyone or so.

I realy wanted to go for the cup again this season, and this incident realy sucked.

But that's how it was, ...so... On we go. ;)

I am (and was) not angry. Written messages are difficult on that part. I can not control the tone someone reads it in, and it might sound angry indeed.

But it's not the case, so don't worry.

Normally, after round 3, I would never TIE in a cup game when I don't play at home, unless I don't mind getting kicked out.
After round 3 all teams in it are capable of winning at home. It's as simple as that.

I understood your post, I just reacted to the last part, in which you hinted that I gambled, which was unintentionally. In fact, I would have put my money on my opponent with the line-up I set should I have been forced to gamble, so I was not surprised seeing I lost. It even surprised me it was still a close game. Nah nah, I was prety depressed around thursday 19h29, when I knew I got screwed.
But that's over now. I could get over it easier then expected. Probably because the process already started even before the game was played. hehe

I am still trying to understand how, with the so huge difference in the stats (team and individual), the result can be such as this one... ununderstandable... In such a situation i can only be disappointed as you can imagine... Everything is there except the most important...the result...

Nevertheless, Congrats to Jo!

well, I think you are right. I also think if you replay this game 10 times, you win at least 7. BUT, I also understand how it was possible.

Your offensive tactic killed you here.

While your inside offense was strong enough on it's own, you still chose inside offense, strenghtening it. But by doing so, you weakened your outside attack. This resulted in your team taking and making very few 3 point shots.

Vottem on the other hand, had the best match-up if it's players took outside shots. By making a few more outside shots, they gained the edge, and then in late game, the forced fouls and the extra fre throws vottem took made the difference.

This said, you also had bad luck with your 2-point shots, if a few more had gone in, votem wouldn't have the slight lead, and by making enough of those 2-pointers, the situation could have been just the opposite...

So even though you probably would have won this game, I still think you gave a opportunity away here, and vottem took the little chance you offered them. A normal, or even and outside offense would have left vottem pretty chanceless (as in only 1 chance in 20 to win, while now, as I see it, you gave him 2 in 10).

Does this make sence? Or am I hallucinating? ;)
