Mod-CrazyEye's advice is solid. You have a serviceable, if not halfway decent training lineup for now. Save up for a bit and buy a first rate trainee once you have 100k-200k. All the teams that finish at the bottom of the league should be bots/inactive, so once the draft lists are released and you've done some scouting of the top prospects, you should know if it's worth finishing 7th or 8th.

I agree he will do better then he thinks. There are a lot of bot/inactive teams in his league. It will only take a few purchases and he should start beating some teams.

I would invest in a few veterans for the non training positions so they will out perform their salary in a mostly bot/lower league can can be bought cheap. Also since this is mostly a bot league you should be investing a decent amount in scouting to try and get at least a couple of good trainees in the draft. I wouldn't waste money on high potential players since you would not be able to see them fully reach their potential. I would stick to star and allstar potential players that fit into the same position(s) for training. Also since you are a team just starting out I would do 2 position training to try and improve a larger percentage of your team through the rest of the season or until you are established after a couple of seasons.

Guys I need help! I just bought a hell of a center and I m struggling not to end up in 8th place! I also have a descent SG but he is out for 2 weeks. :S Should i buy a good PG to feed my center and if not what should i do? And oh, i forgot 2 mention that i my backups suck! Do i stand a chance or what? :P :P

Try buying young, cheap 1k-5k players with the money you get from home games or at the end of the week.

Go ahead and drop your 5 or 6 lowest salaried players as well except for maybe Briggs and Carr who are young enough to benefit from some training if you're able to squeeze them in. That will help you save a bunch of money and having those guys on the court won't help you anyway.
