You don't miss out on using scouting points. Lets say you have been spending 10k a week on scouting so far. I think it has been about 7 weeks so far. That means you have 14 scouting points. Once the system is released you can use all 14 scouting points straight away. So no harm in releasing it later this season.

As I understand the new system, we haven't really lost any of the season for using scouting points yet, although we may end up having to use them in a shorter time frame. From the news post, it doesn't really sound as there normally would be any spending of scouting points prior to the combine, which should be this week for future seasons. I guess you could go and scout guys just off of the limited basic information that will be available, but that would make it hard to save up enough money to be able to afford the combine.
Even if you were to scout players early in the season most future seasons, you'll still have the same amount to scout this season, it will just be compressed into the second half of the season. So the first week it becomes available, everyone will decide if they want to spend money on the combine and which guys they'd like to watch play a game, and how much money you want to save for second scouting trips. Personally I think if people are paying for the combine, they will likely do the combine on week 1, decide on who to watch in a game in week 2, and then follow-up with some of those players in week 3.
There are 6 weeks left before the draft, so there still is plenty of time to use all the scouting points you've been accumulating this season.

i'm very intersted in the new drafting system.

the last one was a pure lotery. i've had gems when i spend 10k a season, and i have had seasons where i spend 40k weekly, but i didn't end up getting a single player about starter potential.

i'm looking forward to the new drafting system.

ow and btw:

usually, when you can submit your drafting ordre, one of the BB's makes a little notice, that everyone see's when (s)he logs into BB. i'd be surprized if they didn't make one of those notices this time, since it's a new drafting system.

so for all those ultra curious guy's, i know it's a pain in the a** to have to wait here, but just give the BB's time. you all will certainly be notified once the new drafting system is in place.

regards

Good, one thing that is a factor is changing your spending. I currently spend $20,000 a week but will be picking last. Once I see the combine I will know if I should stop spending altogether or even increace it. Planning and choices are good.

But remember baseline rankings you receive are in somewhat order of talent so your baseline rankings are going to be pretty similar to everyone else in the league so spending more may not make a difference.

Yes but in a rookie I think potential > talent and to an extent height > talent too.

Ever drafted a 18 year old, salary $4500 7'0" all star SG with all atroicios inside skills. What do you do with that?
How about an 18 year old, $6,000 starting salary and bench warmer potential. How good is he?

They can be sorted in order of talent but I still hope a clever manager who has spent a lot on scouting can find a gem in there.

would love to find a 7'0 SG with 6,000 starting salary and "inept" inside skills. Hopefully superstar potential

Now that would be wonderful!
