I had my two best starters injured the week before the playoffs a couple of seasons ago and it definitely cost me promoting. It sucked, but I got better depth the next season. It paid off as one of my key guys got injured again right before the playoffs, but my backup was good enough to hold down the position and I promoted.

Injuries do suck, but they are part of the game. Like other posters have said, be thankful injuries arent season long and that injuries dont end careers or create player abilities to go down!

As far as real life, just look at guys like Greg Oden, Yao Ming, Joel Przybilla, Antwan Jamison, Chris Kaman, Udonis Haslem, Mehmet Okur. These guys either didnt play at all or barely made it on the floor. Thats just looking at todays injury reports.

As far as playoffs, how about Magic Johnson and Byron Scott both pulling hamstrings and not being able to go against the Detroit Pistons? That surely cost the Lakers a championship.

Part of the game

There is no need to emulate this real life feature here. It doesn't add anything to the game.

Sorry man... I meant to respond to your post and accidentally deleted most of what you had written.

It adds this little element that some people like to call "strategy".

Explain please. Strategy usually is an elaborate and systematic (long term) plan to achieve some goal - injuries that are random and unplanable somehow dont fit into that scheme...

strategy also include, to handle and calculate risk.

You cant "handle" the risk of losing two or three of your top players for a longer amount of time.

Like I suggested, increase the number of ingame injuries, to force teams to get deeper lineups and decrease/remove injuries that take a player out longer than one week - thats some risk teams can handle.

Argue all you want, injuries are a part of this game and aren't going anywhere.

true. but random injuries do suck.

You cant "handle" the risk of losing two or three of your top players for a longer amount of time.

and that's a problem in my eyes. argue all you want.

i'd say injury system should be revised. maybe some indication for players health should be added. then if you let the player play and his health is bad or close to bad and you get injury - your fault. of course it should not be too simple to manage players health.

EDIT: sry i meant to direct this msg for everyone.

Are you arguing for scheduled injury's?

no i don't want that. but i would want that those injuries would be not completely random. if it would involve some bad managers decisions, you wouldn't see these frustration threads a lot.
