The only real problem with vets it that while younger players late in the season have better skills than their salary, veterans have worse skills than what their salary should be. My SG trainee's salary should be 10K even though I am only paying him 6K, and this gap only gets bigger later in the season and with players that have better skills. In the championship series I will have a 12K SG for 6 K (I'm 99% sure he is going to get a JR pop because he didn't pop last week in JR training). However with an older player he is going to be making more than he is worth later in the season when the season is decided. Also he is only going to get worse; if you aren't ready to win the division next year you will have a worse PG to do it with while the other teams you are competing with have a better/same starting PG.

Still he is a very good transaction but If you don't win soon the buy won't be as good as it could have been.

He will only be making more than he is worth if his skills decline, and as several posters have said, it doesn't appear that the skill loss is significant. Older players are great for lower leagues- they cost less and have high experience compared with younger players.

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.
