You keep suggesting away from reality.
In minor countries, the number of teams watching the NT process is so low, that a newbie signing up, registering for the election and voting for himself has actually a pretty solid shot at becoming the next coach.
It is nonsence with two paralel aspects.
1) In case that user will be the only one, then so be it!
It is better than having a BOT as the coach of that team.
2) When publicizing what I've suggested, it as a better chance that someone
OUTSIDE that BB-nation will try to run for that position.
3) What you point do bring is that the option of voting for yourself should be removed. [And that is true anyhow]
Part (1) of your suggestions, as nice as it is in theory, is still discriminating young teams and *red alert* gives the old and rich fat teams sitting around doing nothing but collecting money an advantage. Also, it may discourage teams to follow the NT early on, as it would be "so far away for them" (X-1 seasons), that they have no need to cope with it till they become available.
Nonsence once again.
1) A team who wants to be selected will do that upon voting.
It does not matter whether that team is older or not, and in case the newer is better, or is better publicizing themself, they will be the next NT coach.
2) A user entering the game does not watch the NT because he can be elected there, but because he wants to see what is NT is doing, because his player may be part of that NT team.
Part (3) is out of all the things you said in this thread the most reasonable, although you keep making assumptions about work you don´t have to do, and things you don´t know nothing about, making it pretty pointless again. Mind stopping the "it´s not so much work anyways" cockiness? There´s plenty things connected to the process of elections (signing up for an election, getting the people to know it´s happening out of cycle, giving candidates a proper time for their campaign) which doesn´t make it as easy as you try to imply, but why I am bothering to explain that is beyond me, you won´t listen anyways.
As you have no knowledge what I do know, it is wiser not to write things like that...
In any case, I've written about the performance of the servers, and that is easily can be evaluated to be very low cost.
But, since you've brought up the implementation time - it shouldn't be that hard either.
All the methods are there, they just need to add a single event (upon timer), that will execute things that are already excuted witha single difference that it is for a bunch of BB-nations and not for all of the BB-nations.
