bedoelen jullie dat mensen spelers kopen gewoon om enkele minuten te spelen tegen een laag loon of om aan het minimum aantal spelers te geraken? Mijn oudste is 40 jaar, nog één uit mijn startspelersgroep :).

I think I found a new record...
A team in my league just bought a 115 000 salary SG for only 164k... That's ridiculous, don't you think?
He almost payed as much for the player himself as he will pay per week for his salary!

There is something wrong with the TL if you ask me ^^
But the shameful thing is, that such players destroy small teams... New players who don't know the game go and buy such forces and go bankrupt in their first few weeks! Changes need to be made :o

you can't do that.

the only way to make a change is forbid a lower lvl team to take a player who's got more than a certain ammount of salary, but that would be discrimination...

BB is a very complex game and has greatly evolved from when i joined it back in season 5 (damn, i must be a caveman on the BB timeline, lol). Alot has changed since then. New tactics, new salary calculations, who training way is change adn the time where everbody could get a lvl 10 trainer is long gone.

So for new teams, sure, those big players will destroy their economies, but their is no way you can prevent them from buying them. they just need to be smart enough not to buy em. Anyone who starts playing a game, should first understand the basics, before making any economical investments. That is in the RL for bussiness, and it's the same for this game. That is what makes this game so great, because it really is pretty close to the real deal when being a Manager of a team!

And it shouldn't be done.

It is up to the managers to see that too expensive players will ruin their economy. Economics mechanics in BB are displayed well enough that even a starting manager could set up a team accordingly. This is the very basics of management games : expenses must be lower than incomes. Besides that, you cannot forbid a team to sign a very strong player just before the play-offs and grab a worthwhile advantage at a 1 M cost. Not a thing I'd do, but I respect teams who do.

This basic rule is even ignored by senior managers, so no wonder that someone investing in the right players, giving proper training and being able to properly manage playing minutes will be ahead of teams with a much greater wages expense.

But it still is a problem...
Because it does not help small comunities as ours!
The Belgian community is small as it is and things like that don't really help the cause!
I see enough 'monster' wage players taking up more wage per week than al the other players on the team combined... And I think the main reason is an easy principal! Back when I started playing, Point guards were the most expensive players on the TL, just because there weren't as many good PG's as for example centers... Now, there is an abundance at each position... Which just makes it harder for managers to get a decent price for their players! Basic ecnomic rule: A high offer means low prices... That's why good SF's are still the most expensive players in BB today, there aren't that many great SF's on the transferlist... This is why managers can still put up high prices, but when players at other positions get posted, others can easily compare them to other players at an other price!
I agree with most of you, that nothing can be done to avoid all these problems... But it really doens't work in the favor of the game because a lot of new managers immediatly get in financial problems and quit the game!
