Hey tough, I'm a pirates fan. 19 straight losing seasons is enough. I'm glad that they're finally winning.

well, I like Pirates, give them credit, but why now Why couldn't they go off against the Reds or Brewers? Or Cards, so Houston could hopefully benefit. Astros remind me right now of the Bobcats. IDK why they traded Pence nor Berkman. Stupidity, even I'd wouldn't trade em. Front Office in Houston Baseball is whacko. Well, at least we can have the first pick again if the Cubs and Rockies win and Astros lose ;) (tear and a smile, meaning I hate we're last, but good that we got the top pick again!)

Another Bucco fan here! Astros needed to trade Lee to start their "rebuilding process." Lee's paycheck was too much to handle for a team that is trying to rebuild. Another thing that was a plus from the trade was that you got prospects in return... That sure as heck doesn't mean anything now as I was thinking the same thing when the Pirates dished all their decent players in years past for prospects but hey you never know, one of those guys could end up turning the team around

like the Dallas Keuasomething dude is actually coming out nicely, punched in a more rested pitching rotation, aand hopefully focused the guys more on getting the ball in the box and hopefully the ump to call an out.

I'm happy they are winning, but once they start winning into August and STILL have a chance at making the playoffs I will be really paying attention. After last year, they will have to prove to me that they can win into August.

or he's dump like in 1992. Remember when we passed on Jeter in 1992? I think they were thinking about that and they don't wanna pass on another potentially "Jeter" like SS. I even heard a scout back then say to Astros, "Pick Jeter or you'll be sorry. Pick Jeter or I'll quit from yall....." He didn't get picked and he quit. 20 years later, 1 NL title and nothing else, when we could've had at least 2 world series wins already here......with Jeter............

They probaly would not have any World series' even with Jeter still.

Astros never fared well against the Braves the entire 90s. even when they added Randy Johnson and Carlos Beltran at trade deadline... BOTH played phenomenal... they still struggled those years to get past braves.

Jeter would not have been that push that they needed.

Plus, if you want to talk about bad draft decisions in hindsight... take a look at Longoria, and How many other 3rd basemen, not just players, but 3rd basemen, were taken ahead of him.

Ian Stewart, ahead of Longoria and Linecum both...

The pirates finally stopped trading guys. They've traded away Jason Bay, Nate McClouth, Xavier Nady, and Freddy Sanchez for prospects! Houston is going to be the next pirates. Trading away talent for prospects=19 losing seasons.
