I was keeping an eye on which team was going to screw me out of the draft's top player this season. I thought it might be The Moteye since they tanked. I thought it might be Warriors because the manager's a veteran. But instead... I got oki-doked by a newbie! I GOT GOT BY A NEWBIE!

So here's the player that should've fallen into safer hands, but didn't because this guy got lucky with the scouting points he did have. (27606237)

And since it was a one-player draft, I only got a 18yo allstar, which is an improvement over last season but still a huge disappointment when I could've had a franchise player had luck been on my side...

But enough of me complaining. I'm going to try to help out this player's development any way I can, be it via buying the player at a huge premium or just helping out the manager. I sure hope this manager isn't going to go inactive...

Has anyone got a worse high expectation 1st round pick than this? Consider he was scouted as an 18yo, 5/5, A-, 6'10", SF.

I am sure BB hates me... :-(

Damn!

I'm just as unlucky, I had third pick in an all bot league and missed out on my 5/5 player!!! (27608250)

he's ok isnt he? Good big man starting skills, and can shoot with range already. Just dont let him put the ball on the floor!

He's better than a lot of draftees but considering his potential as a no.1 pick, that's where the disappointment is. How he rolled so badly stat-wise, to have a salary under $3k, I have no idea. Ideally I would have liked to see $4k+ (min). My 2nd and 3rd draftees were both starter and each has a higher salary than my no.1...

Yeah tough one Vio. The rolls just didn't go your way.

That said, I would consider training him as a decent big man, drafted by your team helps the merchandise too I believe

You think that's a horror story violater? I'm on my phone so I can't copy + paste, but let me help by sharing my disappointment:

18 years old, 5/5, A-, 7'0 C
(keep in mind he is my #1 preference of course, but there were 3 other 5/4 18 year olds in the same draft, all gone by my 2nd pick)

$2934 salary
MVP potential

Atrocious: Stam, FT, JS, JR, PA, and HA
Pitiful: OD
Mediocre: ID
Average: DR, IS, RB
Respectable: SB

A guy who can't run, shoot, touch the ball without giving it away, and his only respectable is in shot blocking.

I'm waiting for someone to tell me this is all a joke, or a bad dream, and that my REAL draft pick (you know, the 5/5 guy I was after) is on his way into my team.

What on earth do I do with this guy? Surely some silly person out there will pay for his potential, but he's worth nowhere near what I put into it.
