Haha quite the ego boost there yoda! :P

I've done 4 seasons as the NT manager in the past when Australia was a less developed BB country and was also mentoring players back then as well so i know what i'm getting myself in for and wouldn't be putting my hand up if i wasn't ready for that sort of patience and guidance again.

Every player and every manager is different so each has to be handled slightly differently. Generally the ones that are only a season or so away are the easier ones. It's those that stop early and never let their players reach their potential that are the really disappointing ones. Hopefully more involvement as a whole (personal communication and general forum activity) will mean we lose less of those types.

Can you comment on your opponent's strengths and weaknesses?

Do you mean election opponents? Well at the moment it's just me and this Melbournelad person who seems to have 2 seasons under his belt. He won div4 then got relegated back to div4 from div3.

Since he hasn't even posted here yet i don't know if there's any more to say.

Well Ive already cast my vote.

My 3 trainees are still at least 4 seasons away from the possibility of NT duties and whilst its probable that none of them will ever make the NT team I will keep perservering.

Id sincerely welcome your feedback as to the plans I have for them.

The offsite forum for NT needs a bit of an overhaul, Ive listed their skills in the wrongly worded "Australian National Team" forum under the wronly worded thread called "Future NT players season 23".

Reason being that Bainsy has listed other current SF prospects in that thread and its almost current

Much appreciate if you could post some advise regarding my plans for them on the offsite forum and then forget everything about them for when I play you next Tuesday

This seems to be a slow thread.

Dire what level do you think we as a nation should be able to get NT side to? We are larger then a number of nations who seem to be able to perform better then we do. What can we do to address this?
What level do you see our team making it to?

Hard to say without looking at our talent pool.
I think we're a top 10 nation but the problem with us not progressing further than that is that most of the time we have pretty stock standard players. Good primaries but not much focus on secondaries.
We're starting to see more 1 on 1 with some of our bigs but i'd like to see a few key secondaries start to become more prominent in future squads as well.

I agree. I believe for good players long term they need to train their 2ndaries early. But if they do it takes them out of 21 NT. My idea is once someone is finished with 21 NT and they have enough potential to make NT that following season is when they should hit their 2ndaries. If they are not done then they will never get done and be a 1 dimensional player.
Or if a player is going to miss the 21 NT side but have high potential they should be advised then to start training with the NT in side and not hold out hope to a late call up. There are a couple of HoFers not going to make the 21 NT. Once I am settled on the squad and those closes to making side I will be advising them and asking them to look to the NT for their training.
Both sides and managers need to work together.

Yeah, completely agree there needs to be a better handover process from the U21 squads to the NT. Even if i don't end up getting the NT spot i think it'd be a good idea to start something there.

Is it possible that taking on the NT coach job could lead to you "burning out" and losing interest in the game?
