i have read many interesting point of views here. but this one does highly a very valid con against secundairy teams
All i have to say is this.
If, back in season 11 or whenever it was i started playing this game, i found out after 4-5 weeks that, as a new user, I was battling in Div IV against Supporter user's '2nd teams'.... supporters who also have teams in the top leagues around the world, and have been playing the game for real life years longer than me.....
then there is
a) No way i would buy supporter
and
b) I would probably think "This is shite" and quit the game.
I remember when i started, finding out that I was playing against guys who had been around for 1 season more than me, made me feel crapola, challanging, and generally they buggered off, but i was a bit like 'hmmm well that sux' and it questioned why i would play the game.
so have a think about all the new users who will be starting, and playing against ur second team.
it's a very valid Con. However, just imagen the following: u got a former ABBL user, who has decided to tank a while, get some young talent under his belt through the draft, train them and then buy the players with the cash he saved from tanking.
If u are a novice manager, u'll still feel annoyed. Hence, u should consider tanking undermining the game in the same way, where as general opinion is that it's acceptable and some might even argue that it's a smart strategy... (now before this topic gets hijacked about tanking, i just wanted to show an simular example. futhermore, more often than not, teams take a risk during a season to promote, pushing their economies to the limit to maximalise the chance for promotion. If they then see a 4th place conference team suddenly spend 7M to ramp up for PO's, they are equally screwed and in several cases, do end up giving up on the game... many things are unfair in this game, so that con could apply to several things)
However, i would like to mention that the guy's using the second teams could help living things up, especially in quite communities. This in turn will help novice managers (even at a forum lvl of their division) learn new things and thus set them on the right direction to help them progress faster, instead of making all the newbies errors that they usually make.
futhermore, i'd also like to point out that the following rule:
2. Country restriction: Secondary teams cannot play in the same country nor buy players from the primary team's original country. To make sure some smaller countries aren't overwhelmed by the influx of new foreign teams, a minimum of 50% of the teams in a country will be reserved for local managers. Also, if a country is 90% full – the remaining teams will be reserved for local managers.
That means that the influx in smaller communities will still be restricted. Thus, such a con as mentioned above would most likely only occure in the larger communities, and not in the smaller communities.
each proposition has a pro and a con, but arguments can be made that the secundairy teams could help out the newbies and thus progress faster. (who would u contact? a guy in ur league who u know nothing off, or a guy who u know has the experience of the game, is playign high somewhere else and likely has some good pointers for u?)
just giving my thoughts about it.
ps: i know it's late, but i don't read all the fora all the time in foreign fora. just the ones i deem interesting and that are written in an understandable english ;)
