I used to be a regular on the offsite no one listened to my ideas and as far as approval I don't care what someone that has no idea what my plans are thinks about me and my management skills.

I want to see you win worlds like EBW. You haven't even made it to D.III in 8 seasons. It took me two and half seasons to make it to D. III. I wasn't in the easiest D.IV and haven't ever played in a complete bot league. Stop being the way you are and give EBW his thumbs up he deserves. It isn't easy being the U21 coach and he put in a lot of hardwork. Join the off-site maybe they will listen to your ideas :) Maybe your ideas weren't best for the team at the time. Try getting familiar with U21 so you can make good suggestions that we will listen too. Where you on the off-site before GDP because discussions have changed since then. We use to roll with LI/man to man so you couldn't really suggest much. Now we run multiple offenses maybe you can give us your input on how they work.

I remember you Spooner. You had that mage card as your avatar . I see you sold Nicky Zepeda for some big $$$$. Good for you. That guys was a beast.

I would suggest trying the offsite out again. It think the atmosphere was definitely changed from what you said, which may have been true because I felt that same way when I first joined the offsite. I followed the U21 fairly closely this year, and can tell you that there were many managers that were involved/helpful in the planning for the games.

I made it to DivIII and got relegated. Do some research before you say something please. This is what I am talking about with offsite people by the way. It's disrespectful to assume eeryone has the same goals you do.

You can't fault people for being defensive when you are the one coming in the thread being a wolphhead. Sounds like you had a bad experience on the offsite and you are taking it out on my thread and EBW for some reason which has nothing do with the fantastic job EBW did as U21 manager this season. I think that EBW will agree with me that the offsite made him a better manager. There were also sometimes that EBW showed a huge amount of male fortitude (huge balls) by disagreeing with the general consensus on the offsite.

I personally would not be in the position I am in basically made DIII (in both USA and Utopia) in 4 seasons in great economic shape because of the personal mentoring, the great wealth of knowledge, and fantastic teams tools on the offsite. I'm sorry you didn't have that same experience because that is atypical of what goes on there.

Sounds like you don't handle criticism very well and should grow a thicker skin because you continue to come off as a wolphhead on internet forums. Of course I can't make you like EBW because this is America and everyone is entitled to their opinion, just like how I am entitled to tell you how wrong you are. I hope you give the offsite another chance or don't because I don't really care.

I'm glad the off site helped you but you are aware you could very easily relegate from both of those. As I stated, I double promoted to DivIII then relegated after a season. I guess that makes me a terrible manager. But I have a long term strategy that doesn't involve being over 1 million in the hole from transfers. I currently have my arena ready for DivIII and have a stockade of cash in case something goes wrong again and/or that's ready to pour into more expansion.

I never said anything bad about EBW, I simply stated that if the U21 and NT want my approval it takes more than one trophy to make me feel like they are doing the best they can. I don't apologize for opinion and I take it as a compliment to be called a wolphhead. Thanks.

A bit harsh buddy. So basically you want people to do exactly what you say, to win all the time, and to be pretty for your approval. He's an U21 manager, not a wife.

I think what is being ignored in this discussion is that E.B.W., while a fantastic game day manager, is exactly the poor sort of moral example that we should not be promoting in the BB USA; to wit, he's absolutely the type of fellow who'll steal another fellow's avatar to try to rack up some spare +1's from unsuspecting beaglephiles, and he still has never denied that he was the dude taking the bathroom picture of Johnny Manziel.

Can't win all the time. Sometimes losing sets you up for a better outcome.

For example, this world's we lost a couple games, but that set us up for success. If we had won, we probably would've had a tougher road to get the the title. It may not seem like I participate in the discussions, but I read on them about once a day/every other day.

We're not trying to be harsh or anything, but we got the gold. Shouldn't people be happy with that?

Or go undefeated and lose the championship? (cough cough, like the Patriots lol)

On the bright side, though, that season you got to be one of those teams who's CT'd me out of the Cup and ended up demoting. I'm sure the $50k was sweet though, and made a real difference for you the next season.

I know we threw one of those games for a better matchup in the semis. Another thrown game was because we already had made the next round and were saving ENT and hiding the tactic that gave us the W in that next round. Spoon wasn't in that conversation so he didn't know that. His vote is his business and that's where it begins and ends for me.

My 2 cents in this convo is that he brings up a valid point. The offsite community was very fraternal and condescending in the past. I dubbed them the dreaded "Cult of LI" and had my own share of flame wars there with them. Heated debates ended up as mental standstills. In several instances one with admin privileges deleted my posts. Eventually we just agreed to keep a respectful distance.

For several seasons, I mainly just logged in to use the tools. I was still interested in training and NT development though. I began to scout for micronations and help them save and train players. I'd at one point become a U21 coach for Bahamas and pull them out of last place in the world before losing re-election......but that's another story. :)

Now, due to heavy promotion and recruitment, the offsite is full of new blood and ideas. As someone else said, the GDP has forced USA to change out of a pure LI pipeline. Some of the old guard are no longer around, others are no longer as vocal. The culture there has opened up quite a bit and I would encourage Spoon to give it another chance when he feels he is ready.

@Spoon - Please don't mistake the passion for the offsite and the US21's season as a mob attack. We all participated in the team and invested much time and effort to which EBW was very receptive. I attended what games I could. It was a great experience watching the comeback in the finals with all the other managers. Though we trolled Spain's chat pretty hard, at the end of the game we all congratulated them and each other. It was a great example of the passion, camaraderie, and sportsmanship that team competition has the potential for.

That experience was the most memorable in all my 12 seasons in BB. Though EBW wasn't able to see the end of the game, he saw how many managers were brought together to cheer on the team and support his efforts.

If the day ever comes that you feel ready to give the offsite another chance, the door is always open. I look forward to your contribution.
