I talk a bit about it in my speech, but as for me what I would do is play taking way more risks, both in terms of strategies and in terms of roster and training. Balanced players with lower salary would make our opponents think the team is weak, and we could switch spots on the court quite easily. If we're against monster teams with monster centers, why attack them where they are good? Let's train outside skills on ALL the players and then we'll have a chance to upset even "unattainable" teams.

And to anybody else who is running for U21, what will you do to make U21 reach its max potential? What makes you different then all the other candidates in terms of being able to run U21?

what can do u21 manager? the main task is interest the managers to train their young players in the way u21 is needed. and to attach players to the teams which are needed them. so u21 manager need to bother other manager about how they train youth and keep shape for 21yo )
and the second task is the studying of the opponent ant choosing tactic and strategy

Yes I send out the expected skills by the end of the season and then we talk to see when they trained what.

To Many People:

My dad and I are different people.
I bet when you were my age your dad defended you.
This election is about the managers not the hatred between the voters.
So, I know you might not like my dad but please just think of us as two different people.

Hey Sparky,

A few questions for you:

1) Since you took over the team there appears to have been a major drop off in interest, honestly it seems to be at an all time low. Do you feel any responsibility for this and how do you think it can be corrected?

2) What did you learn during your term as manager? And how will it make you a better manager going forward?

3) We appreciate that you are young and that your dad is just helping you, but convince me and the rest of the Canadian community that you actually make your own choices. From everything I can read in the forms you guys share identical theories on tactics, player builds etc. How do you plan to make this your team and not your dads team.

To the other candidates,

A few questions for you:

1) How will you increase interest in the Canadian U21 team?

2) Did you learn anything from the mistakes that Sparky made in his term? If so what?

3) Obviously you cannot see the builds of the players but how will you change the training strategies? Sparky mentioned that very few people responded to his messages, so I am curious how your approach will be different.

Several Press-releases in a season. Preview/review for every competitive game (very detailed). surveys about every young generation. many-many bb-mails to the every holder of young canadian player.

2) Did you learn anything from the mistakes that Sparky made in his term? If so what?

unfortunately i didn't follow canadian u21. and it's difficult to learn smth cause you don't know the skills of the players... and as you know people very rearly learn smth from the other's mistakes, only from own ones. and i made them very many as u21 coach, so i learned very much )))

3) Obviously you cannot see the builds of the players but how will you change the training strategies? Sparky mentioned that very few people responded to his messages, so I am curious how your approach will be different.

yes, not all managers train players as u21 coach want. many of them even don't answer your bb-mails. approximately about 25-30% answer the mail. and not all of this 25-30% respond to this letter. you need to interest manager. and you have only words. if u21 nt will won, if it will active, maybe some more managers will be interesting in it...

What we need to do is get managers more involved from the beginning. We shouldn't just wait until they land a nice prospect, because by that time they may have already quit or lost interest. If I were a U21 manager I would send all new Canadian managers a welcome BB mail. In the lower leagues with minimal forum activity, BB can seem a bit dry for new managers. If we try to get them involved in the community early on, I'm sure we would have more success retaining managers which is good for Canada and BB as a whole.

That is very true.

I am tired though of shitstorm that happens with every elections. What is the point of all that? Maybe debate thread should be only for those who ask question, and for candidates who are answering the questions. Just not to spam it and cause friction.

Not entirely sure why interest is so low, hence I asked the question of the candidates. How can it be made better or is the game just dying out with a lack of dedicated managers?

It is the worst part of the position but unfortunately a lot of the interest from the community relies on the managers of the NT's. The NT remained relevant thru a great season but our U21 team appeared as a shadow of its former self. How can it be improved? I agree it is up to everyone to help but the manager is the captain of the ship so bares a heavy responsibility.
