It means that if anyone talks about a report he submitted he gets told off. You and other GMs are on record that the rules state that you cannot debate on forums about disciplinary or GM actions...so the rules apply to just about anyone, except those who are special!

It's not called poking, it's called sarcasm and it doesn't change the fact that it reflects exactly what has been said multiple times by you and other GMs (so in a way I'm doing an excellent service to the community reminding everyone about the official policy about discussing reports, bans, fines etc). If you want, I can go back and link actual posts from multiple GMs. But since it's in nobody's interest to start another flame war, here is what I think we should do:
• We have to bear with you GMs telling us we have no right to know or even inquire about the reports we submit, about why long term users have been banned, about ANY of your actions as GMs
• You have to bear with us taking a stab at you for the opacity and lack of controls in the system, for the overly defensive stance and occasional open aggression some GMs display on the forums etc etc. Unless, of course, a normal user repeating things that GMs have already said is now forbidden as well.

My suggestion still stands. Report indefinitely until some GM does something or gets annoyed to see the same report coming up over and over. This is a strategy that even some of you guys have used before being anointed as GMs, if memory serves me right.

That rule is essentially the same as pretty much every game site has. Do you flame everywhere, or just here?

No, actually, they probably don't. We've all seen some child pushing his limits with his parents to see how much he can get away with before his parents discipline him. If his parents are inconsistent in their discipline the kid never learns, and goes through life repeating the behavior, which for an adult is quite maladaptive behavior. All of a sudden an authority figure will apply a limit squarely on the kid -- bam! -- imagine the kid's surprise when that happens!

Sure Mike, but that's not the point. Don't you see the irony in what Perpete just did? If you reprimand people because they didn't follow a rule, it seems reasonable you should follow that rule yourself. It's just that coherence is not a common currency around here.

To then get hard criticism for that work when people actually have no clue what's going on can be real frustrating.
Absolutely, but let me ask you: whose fault is it? Is it the user's who has no clue what's going on and gets told off? It's frustrating also being on the other side, especially since you know that GMs are people as well and can make mistakes (but you will never know if they did). What you're asking is complete and total support, no questions asked. It's like me demanding a 10k loan from you. Would you give it to me if I just give you my word, nothing more, that I'll pay you back? And if someone says he had trouble collecting a loan from me in the past would you be more inclined to lend me the money?

You have to accept the rules set up by the creators of this game.
Yes we all have (GMs too). However, I don't have to like them or approve of them. Saudi Arabia has a law that forbids women driving, I'm sure it has a rationale no matter how backwards or convoluted, but I don't have to like it or approve of it and surely I can try to show how it's not the best law in the world. Everyone would benefit from a little more transparency and accountability.

... I used that thread as a platform to say in which way a report should be made to be useful. Better reports will not just help the GMs, but the whole community. ...
... There is no problem here with some openness to clear out a misunderstanding.

I think that is reasonable. The rules are tools you use, but you are also asked to use your judgement.
