IMO the guys you sold were listed below value. YOur mistake was buying them in a situation where their salary perhaps wouldn't make sense to keep and you were forced to sell.

I took a risk and it did not pay off - I wasn't forced to sell all those guys, if I dumped the washed up C you bought I would still have made some profit and balled like a boss.

All in all I don't care about that situation, as it did not impact my teams finances at all. I'm recouping losses at a high pace right now, as my merch money went through the roof - we all know the fans in this game are extreme xenophobes, so...

The young guy was sold with a profit of a few thousand, no loss in that case. He wasn't one of the rental guys, but had to go as I opted to dump all foreigners (except for my utopian monster).

Do you see more players that the mid-level/average teams want? Is that better for you than last season?

Yes and yes. I'm looking with my Utopia team since I need to add some players and several of those that I bookmark are in fact free agents. I think this has started towards the end of last season.

For 18yo and 19yo it stands to reason that 60 TSP is too high as very few players satisfy such requirements at the beginning of a season.

Can we all agree that untrained/hardly trained players would be good to see FAd?

Of course we can agree and considering that Marin wants to push training, it obviously makes sense to give people more trainable young players, especially when the draft can be honestly be very underwhelming. The draft in the EBBL last season was like this:
0x 18yo MVP or better
1x 19yo MVP
1x 18yo SS
3x 19yo SS
1x 18yo PAS
0x 19yo PAS
The rest was worse.

In any case, it was a glimpse into your player preferences skill wise, and that is all I meant.

Since you don't live in a huge nation, if you are going all locals. Yes in this case, going forward....FAs might not help that much either...but I think if you go all national you are basically screwed.

Those players did not represent my preferred players, the market is/was really dry, so I had to go with what was availiable. On the other hand, the players I am looking for, don't exist - I am building them right now.

Anyways... I don't think Austrian players are popular - I haven't seen any Schickelgrubers, Schwarzeneggers, Wursts, maybe if those were around we'd see steeper prices for our local material.

I drafted a TSP 67, 19yo guy (38002747) and this dude is an absolutely beast - if it wasn't for his week FT shooting (whatever), this would be the perfect player to start with. So if we see this player as somewhat of the minimum for what can be released as FA, the chances are very slim to see more younger quality players being released as FAs.

Conclusion: The requirements should be lowerer to like 40 TSP for 18-19yo players. Most of them end up as mediocre 70 TSP monoskill dudes anyway.

I think the inclusion of lower salary Free Agents was a good idea. But I wasn't too happy that they took away all FAs over $60k. These kind of player don't just benefit top division teams. When newer teams try to promote to the highest divisions they need good players. Free Agency can be very useful for these teams, since other teams that have good quality players like to keep them until they get older and then sell them then, usually at high prices. FAs provide a supply of good players of all ages that a manager can be pretty sure they are getting for a fair price. Of course, eliminating high salary free agents doesn't make it impossible for newer managers to acquire good players, it just makes it a little bit harder.

Also I see Free Agency as kind of a market regulator. A manager can try and sell their $65k guard for 3 million, but no body is going to buy that player when their are similarly skilled Free Agents available for half the price. No free agents means that price is completely determined by what managers are trying to sell at.

Last season you could buy them for about 1.1-2 million, and that is why the LI cookie cutter reared its ugly head in the b3 finals again IMO.

What kind of players would you consider to be LI cookie cutters as opposed to just normal players?
