The slow or fast play would most likely determine if players are looking for the best possible shot or if their looking to shoot as soon as they've got an opportunity. What I find when I play faster offences (except look inside) is that my big guys tend to shoot more three point shots (which is a bad idea, because they stink) because they happen to be set up for an open shot, not because they need to.
Steal or no steal is not determined by the offense you choose. That is a defensve task. It may however determine the amount of turnovers, which is a combination of the offense you choose and the defense your opponent chooses.
