using GS training on a regular basis indeed shows lack of good managership.
However it is posible one has played his starting 5 excessive minutes and are likely to go down. (for instance in a week with 2 important league games + cup semi's).
Then you face the cup finals next week. So it might not be a bad idea to train shape in order to pull them back in line.
So it is not very unlikely to happen to some teams.
Same can happen when the POs are underway. ;)
