I didn't say you were making things up, I said you're making my suggestion to be something it isn't. I'm not suggesting a pop up, that's just a figure of speech. I meant that the message would pop up on the page like the one that appears when you fire a player. You would click on bid, a message would appear beside the bid button warning you that it will be final, then you would click the bid button again to put the bid through.

If you plan to implement this perhaps use it for newbies in their first week or make it possible to remove the confirmation warning via profile.

I support the confirmation button. The settings change via profile is a nice addition.
I wouldn't use it for newbies only. The week after this confirmation disappears, they could have unwanted bids because they might expect a confirmation when still doubting.

I must voice my opinion, and it's negative towards your proposal.
I've lost some bidding wars due to slow server or server crashing or players being sold 20 seconds before the deadline, the last thing I need is to have to wait for another screen to lead before I can bid...
and c'mon, who bids by accident? it reminds me of "it's not what it seems darling, I was just walking around the room and slipped and fell on her by accident")

How often does a last second bidding war occur? I have a hard time believing that it happens that often.

It's funny because some people in the other thread said that owners are responsible for knowing the rules. They're also responsible for making bids on players within a resonable amount of time and not waiting until the last second to do it. If you're missing out on players just because you're forgetting to do it until it's almost too late then that's your fault, don't blame it on the extra couple seconds it would take to confirm the bid.

P.S. It's not to keep people from hitting bid accidentally, it's to provide them with the info they need to make a good decision.

I'm not forgetting to do it... I simply always have to bid against someone
of all my purchases including staff I'd say 75-80% were bid wars... even at like 3am

Sometimes the server runs kinda slow. With bid confirmation you can actually miss out on a player with unlucky runtime errors etc.

I looked through a bunch of players the other day and didn't see more than one bid on any of them.
