As said, 64 teams needed into D2. Then there should be normal demotion from D3 to D4 (said in the rules), meaning that last teams from both conferences will demote. Then based on relegation series two others will demote. So totally 4 teams per league should demote. In total 128 teams demoting from D4 -> D3.

I have understood that promotion to D2 is based on exactly same rules than last season to D3.

And promotion from D4 to D3:
- so 128 seats available, 66 leagues so winners must be clear and my guess is that best ones of those who will lose finals. I would prefer same kind of ranking than last season (win - loss ratio and then scoring)

So 64 teams promote out of Div III and another 128 teams demote out of Div III, meaning that there is 192 spots to fill in Div III.

If there are 66 Div IV leagues I assume that means that the 66 winners from these leagues will promote and that there will be an additional 126 teams from across the 66 Div IV leagues that will also promote to Div III

Perhaps but then again having so many Div III teams demote might help bring justice to those teams who promoted last season by buying up geriatrics and didnt invest in their stadiums

I think it is fair that normal demotion is used so that rushing into higher leagues has also own risks!

Not sure if promotion to II is clarified somewhere...same rules than last season from IV to III or this bot promotions?

(Those who think this is not needed - in my case it is really needed if you check situation in my conference!)

Why no one says anything about promotion this season. I am really curious about it and I have to buy players according to the promotion rules. 4 teams from each league and 2 teams from each conference? Long story short both conference finalists will promote?

That was my assumption also. If they are now going to change the rules, at least I know what to do then.

Yes, the promotion from D3 to D2 will work like last season's promotion from D4 to D3.

D4 to D3 this season is another story though, as I already explained in (257780.43). Last season we had bots in B3 which we cleared out. This season, one quarter of D3 teams will promote to D2. Another quarter of D3 teams will demote to D4. This means that we, again, have lots of room for promotion from D4 to D3 (16*4+16*4=128 places, to be exact). There is one problem though - we have more than 64 leagues in D4. This means that not all conference winners will be able to promote. Only human league champions (probable number of those is 68) will have a guaranteed pass, while the rest (60 places) will be filled with the best of the rest - by rank. The ranking used is the usual one (the one used for bot promotion, only looking at the standard season results).

There might be some surprises yet (this is new territory for us too, remember?), but we're certain we can handle it to your satisfaction. I'm glad, personally, that this Utopia story is still developing and is as exciting as it was in the beginning and hope you guys are still having fun playing in it.
