haha ok ok, i wont get the spreadsheet out. its got pie charts and everythin!

ok the best example is current transfer market.

just do a search on ID + IS + OD as minimum Proficient ansd salary < $25k

thats pretty much my research all year. I totalled 36 sales above $700k of that criteria all season to 'good teams', plus another 9 sales to what u would call 'noob' teams (plus i ignored some other factors, such as age, injured etc)
My personal needs were a bit more specific, so sometimes id filter on passing/JS etc.

its something ive realy only learnt this season, is how you can get 'good value' players. I noticed it last year with Geelong Vipers, he had 3 centres in his starting 5, playing C, PF and SF, but two of them had salaries less than $25k. So I started looking into this kind of player, and realised that guys with low salary, but evenly spread stats, sell for lots, and are also great players. Plus they have a low salary, so you get a much better return.

which kinda makes sense, because really, the salary to sale price ratio is not linear at all. Just cause a guy has a $100k salary, doesn't make him a better player than the guy with a $50k salary, and hence, his sale price should reflect this, but then the transfer market is a bit funny sometimes.
and the phenomena is even more so with the SF position, because you can train some of the primary skills, and as long as he is still classified as a SF, his salary doesn't take a big hit. Maurice was like this, i popped him driving X 2, JS, Handling last season, and his salary only went up $3k over the off-season.

anyways, happy to talk about it more with anyone if they are interested.

while i agree with about 90% of this , ur player sits in the area of well rounded but no where to go as his too old n has no potential anway because of this he isnt worth that much , a refined search would show this.

the few examples left would be explained via noobs , retiring teams wasting money n not that im suggesting you did it in anyway illegal transfers between 2 teams. theres a bunch of vet players that watch the market closely and report these type of grey area deals.

its this kind of result which tends to make me want to leave this game. ever since they "updated the game engine stuff like this happens randomly"

vio fouls out in the third and im up , from that point on his team is unstoppable and only my gaurds shoot the ball

Maybe his enthusiasm level was higher than yours? + He played at home.

Anyway, 1 million for Maurice is definitely a joke :D

24 yo star with these skills, that's funny. There is no way he can become any decent with this potential anyway.I remember buying a 21 HOF small forward with much better starting skills for a million.

But you guys shouldn't worry about this because he wasted 1'650'000 (!!!!!) on another SF that is certainly slightly better but will for sure not go any further than the previous one. I can guarrantee you can buy a much better asset with over 1 million and a half lol

So let's say there is another happy team on the market!

i would have been fine with you winning under these circumstances -

1 vio didnt foul out n ur team just out played me in the fourth.

2 vio fouled out in the third but you had a good lead which i got down to 9 but you outlasted me.

how the game engine portrayed the much is just plain stupid.

Yer the potential with my guy is certainly low.

But one thing I've realised lately is that not everyone buys a player to train. So it can't always be looked at as a factor for sale price.
But i agree, in Maurice's instance his potential was low compared to others.
Still...good player in my eyes

his whole team lit me up in the forth so it wasnt chapman going kevin love on me (yes i used a timberwolve player )

i think the part that annoyed me the most is how the game engine played this out , i get to the fourth with the lead after dominating the third quarter, his best player vio fouls out the games mine for the taking.

what happens is stupid , its like my coach went ok our bigs are scoring well but i dont want you gaurds to miss out on the action you take 80% of the shots this quarter ok ?

guards : but coach we are fine getting it to the bigs :(

coach : listen here gaurds i was an allstar match video watcher in my day now im your coach do what i say 80% shots with a 5% chance of scoring ok always off an isolation play , got it ?.

guards : yes coach

bigs : can we atleast run some pick n rolls there been getting us some open looks ?

coach : come on big your not getting with the team plan thats not the kind of attitude we need ot there right now (benches star player)

other bigs : sinse when was spolstra (last years spolstra) our coach ?

end of game

coach : wtf guys
