To all the candidates: If you had 110 skill points to assign to a player (excluding free throw and stamina), how would you allocate them to best suit our team’s needs?

Ultimately what we put on the court come game day is a product of everything we do in the entire NT as a whole. It starts with finding the young players, then developing them, involves organization and management, and ultimately, lies on tactics the day of the game. My question to the candidates is where in this entire process do you think we are getting beat? I'd also like to hear how you would try to address what you see as the area we are getting beat.

I think our process for finding and developing talent is currently AWESOME. We have threads for every age group 18-21 on the offsite (which my opponent wouldn't know about!) with over 100+ comments in many of them! The chatter about training strategies, potential caps, finding players, etc is great. And there are many great scouts for each age group, also on the offsite, so that we can find all the potential NT talent. So I don't think that's our problem.

I don't think our management or tactics or enthusiasm management is the problem either. Jfarb did a fantastic job of that. Things are so close at the world-class NT that just super small differences are key. Home court advantage was one of them this year for helping Poland win the title. Nothing we can do about that.

The one thing I might say that other countries do better than us is that they keep their homegrown talent mostly at home. Teams sacrifice their club teams for the good of their NT in some cases. I think Americans care more about winning the club title than the NT title. And there's nothing wrong with that at all, it's their choice. We train our youngsters for a while, then they get too expensive so we sell them off to Latvia or something, and some are never seen (or trained) again. Many also get their GS abused. It would be great if we could keep as many potential NT'ers in house as possible. But I honestly don't know if there's a solution to that, other than BB-mailing with the American owner to give him strategies for keeping his salary as low as possible for as long as possible.

Sorry for the essay...

I think so, pity he probably wouldn’t be able to stay in decent game shape.

Speaking of which, as the NT manager, would you encourage the creation of a David Tapia style player, even though such a player would be both financially unsustainable for the vast majority of teams and have poor market value for the team that trained him?

Boy, lots of directions to go here...Here is where one of my trainees is heading:

JS: 15 JR 8
OD: 20 HA 15
DR: 15 PA 15
IS: 9 ID 5
RB: 3 SB 5

110 points. He's being groomed for my Look Inside attack that I run. Only 125K too, so very affordable.

Really? That dude is a one-trick pony. That would make him like the 4th or 5th best guard on our team. I wouldn't play him in many games.

That's why I didn't go with a guard, you can't do any better with 110 points than many on our current NT. That's a solid player for 110, but based on our team needs, we need a nasty big man more, in my opinion.

I agree with namssor, we lose potential NT stars. One way we could try to get foreign owners to try to help us is tell them of the merchandise increase that comes with the NT to help with the salary.

We do seem to be lacking a real look inside point guard, though there isn't much need without a real inside threat. Do you think the NT has a place for more of a true point guard that could score inside at will?

Something along the lines of
JS: 10 JR 5
OD: 20 HA 15
DR: 18 PA 18
IS: 13 ID 5
RB: 1 SB 5

Never seen verbal rape before...

"That is where I come in to make your life easier. Vote for me and you do not have to make the tough choice."
@Buckeye
that is by far the funniest thing i've heard today, but voting for you is like me being so indecisive that i couldn't choice between jessica alba or jessica biel so I choose Rosie O'donald.

We have a lot of great outside shooters. Unfortunately, we play all our games indoors.

Absolutely i do. Honestly, the guard I am training has 4 JR right now, and I would much prefer high DR/IS for that purpose...I made him a little more balanced in what I posted because i know that some would freak out at a high level guard with 10 JS...but I agree, there are a games like a guy you created would be a great true PG, and would serve a great purpose!

I would put more time to the NT because I know my team isnt as important as a NT. If it got really bad i would put tasks to people.
