Well Dragones could post how much he will get for Silves if he wants(1-2 weeks is not enough to compare the impact) but, i can assure you that the impact of a foreign player from a foreign country its not more than a 1-10%(being generous) anyway to receive more money the player has to play some minutes on their nt match...

didn't Silves play in their NT? I though he has something like a Playing time guarantee even with medium Gameshape.

PS: The progress of dragones Merchandise about the next 4 weeks would be intresting, if he hold the player in his rooster.

Well what he would get of merch is really low(i dont think it arrives to a 1%), in compare to his salary...

Anyway B3 to have a bit ''more'' of prestige should be like the play-off situation put a rule to dont allow to buy mercs in the week before or so to the semifinals or quarter-finals, if you are smart enough you can sign one of this mercs and make the difference.

Apart from the 2-3 from bissy i bet that Dragones without Silves would have lost that match, pretty sure.

Well I dont want to say 'I told you all so' but I did 'tell you so'.... it was obvious that sooner or later (last season with 200-250k salary centers) and now this season (even larger - Silves) the outcomes of games would be more influenced by last minute big name signings... if it continues then it will surely influence others to just sit back and raise cash so that they can make a more calculated run at glory.

Thats not taking anything away from Dragones at all or the other clubs that have done this before... he is playing within the rules laid down by BB and using them to his advantage (like day trading / mutual TIE etc)... but I second some sort of change that would require teams to register players for a competition OR have a salary cap so you can't just go down the old HT divine trick route (i think im right in saying that - been a long time since i played it)... but i think you know what Im getting at.

No1 v No2 showdown next week!!! Promises to be an epic!

i believe those 250k center would be soon normality in the clubs, in the Bundesliga there are currently some of those big salary center active and not only for 1-2 important games.

250k I agree.... they were being used last season... im talking about where we go from here... $500k guys aren't sustainable (IMO) and there will be more of them sloshing around from now on....I would expect an increase of 4th placed teams advancing come play-off times and then a continuation of clubs operating well under budget so that when needed they can spring into life and bolster for must win games.

I know I often take opinions to the extreme but there is nothing as of yet to suggest this won't become the norm in the future.

Fair points (as always).

I guess the knee-jerk reaction is more of a disappointment that whichever way you want to look at things the most expensive players in the game still win games over so called 'balanced players' yet in reality 99.9% teams cant and wont operate with a $500k + monster for more than 2 weeks. It's definitely something anyone can do, both my opponent and I spent big ahead of our L16 match (slightly different purchases :D) and its not a completely suicidal strategy... (who wouldnt pay $2-3mil more to almost guarantee a trophy?!) so I guess its something that we now have to expect 'might' happen and because of that it may force teams to consider a totally different average weekly wage so that they are always in position to 'keep up with the Jones's' if it happens to them.

The other side-note which goes against the BB ethos is that this game is supposed to be equal irrespective of time spent on it. By allowing last minute transfers, you are giving advantage to those that can spend more time on the transfer list.

In regards to the cost to bring on a 500k player its a net loss in the short term, even walking away with the B3 trophy. The one thing that might rationalize this type of move, and definitely something i would consider, is the fact that once you've won the B3 you get a lifelong ticket to the annual competition.

I never liked that aspect of the B3 and it might provide enough motivation to take the short term risk and cost in adding these unsustainable players for one game or two.
