I just began with BB yesterday and got my new team. Thank y'all very much for all the work on the formulas. I don't know which one of the posted is the best so far but i tried to implement a practice factor.
Since in my team all players got a respectable practice shape i assumed this was the default setting. The curiousity about that is that the XML file gives a 6 for that and not a 7, like i expected it to be.

Anyways, so i worked with 6 as the default setting and added this to some formula i took from this tread (i believe it was micio's, so thank you for that... i hope it's working well ;) ).

this is it, i'm not sure if i'm right about this:

[formula] + (([pr]-6)*0.07*[formula])

What do you think of that?

Would be nice if you could add height and binary home / away buttons to the formula tool in the next version... Team rating predictions (can be with own formulas of course) and enthusiasm level settings would be sweet also.

if you play with center with height 200 there`s more chance that he will get block allso his training is slower, but thats not the point... Logical that more height is Center more chances to defend the basket...

Maybe I`m wrong I don`t really know, but I think that I should be right.

You're wrong. Height affects training speed ONLY. This has been discussed in detail in several different threads.

sorry I just missed that... and that means I am wrong...

I could add that sometimes like now I really miss coz if C 180cm could play against C 224cm... just don`t have what to say... Lithuania is county made of Basketball... It`s our religion... so this is really funny...

Well, when you consider the reasoning behind this, it makes perfect sense. A player's skill in a given position takes his height into account. Example: a 6'2" strong rebounder is more skilled at rebounding than a 7'2" strong rebounder. However, the 7'2" rebounder is much taller and that makes up for his lack of skill. Therefore, they are equally good rebounders.

Get a random 2.20 guy off the street and play him against a 1.80 who has trained professionally for, say, 10 years. You'd be surprised what the results will be.

Actually, the sign of a good rebounder is when he picks up the ball from the floor. It's called boxing out. If you seal your man well enough far enough from the basket, you might be 5'10 and it wouldn't matter.
