thats actually a good strategy.

by putting large bids and blowing away the competition he scared the lot of them away and won.

stone slashers coulve spent another 30 mins messing about with bids of small increments and still wouldve paid 2mil+ for that SF cos in that 30 mins more bidders wouldve joined in on the action.

so from that, my conclusion is that he saved both time and money.

"time is money my friend" cannot be anymore understated in this example =P

went for 1.5 a few seasons back so he purhaps could've had him for 1.2 and he bid on him from the get go. Despite not being able to get his old team out of d3, what it comes down to now is, does he have the players around him to take ss to the next level. Could be a smart buy but might also end up being a flop.
