Hehe definitely was not targeting you with that timimg. Actually, I'm kind of upset about that whole thing. He was up for $1k (if i remember correctly) last week and nobody bid. When he came back on the TL, I thought I could get a real good deal. Next thing I know, I was in a bidding war with a guy in Japan ... Could have had him for a bit cheaper had I have the patient.

As for today game, I don't think you have much to worry. HCA is still king in this game plus my GS in general is bad this week. Not sure how that PL game was won. I get the hunch PL GE is not the same as the regular league game GE. Do you get that impression as well?

You know, guys, I've felt for a long time that the PL uses a different GE. OTOH, most of us play TIE for most of our games and my guess would be that the PL games are played with "normal" effort—and that would probably give a significant boost to ratings. Just a guess though...

The ratings don't change depending on what effort you use, but if you TIE on Thursday, your PL game on Friday will be about the highest enthusiasm you can have since it's only got one day to drop.

Not gonna lie, his name was one of the major incentives in acquiring him.

I'm confused what Kentucky Wildcats is doing. Is he trying to win a few games to hopefully land in a relegation series? The players are too old to pre-purchase for D.II stuffs.

i got it narrowed down to four possibilities:

-- a Njords is the opposite of fjord, so it must be some sort of big mountain, and Hakarl must be the location of Thor's house

-- it's the name of some obscure Scandinavian writer whose books are as gloomy as their winter

-- it is the Hakarl that belongs to a guy named Njord, minus the appropriate punctuation

-- a type of fish

i am expecting the answer to be delivered to me when i open my next Chinese fortune cookie.

Njord is nah-yoord, and is the name of one of the Norse gods (he was the father of Frey and Frigga, and is associated with the sea, fishing and crops).

Ha-karl is a Icelandic food that is fermented shark meat. Anthony Bourdain once tried to eat it and couldn't- it was too gross for him.

"Njord's Hakarl" n. - A Buzzerbeater team in NBBA that needs a more active ownership.

Despite what Tangosz said in the post above mine, I have it on good authority that the team wasn't originally going to be named that at all, but one of the bench-warmers was a huge Monty Python fan (and, thus, lacked the requisite ability to play basketball) and thought it would be cool to say he was "Pining for the Fjords" but not actually dead. Earwax being what it is for Tangosz, he thought it was Njords and decided to go from there.
