I have not followed the U21 team closely but am curious why we want with Patient offence. Usually this is reserved for games where a loss is imminent or you have a district advantage at a certain position. We had neither of those for this game.
Not sure if the result would have changed but a LI or even a base offence would have actually made this a game.

7 full days in between the question and response is not a sound way to keep people engaged or involved. The answer is also pretty weak IMO but whatever. Sorry for implying there was absolutely no response, but in fairness the response was weak. If his answer is truly that we didn't need to win it is more alarming than I thought. As the coach of the "best of" teams your job is to keep people interested. Winning is what keeps the community involved. Trust me I made some horrendous errors as a NT coach but my goal was always to win when reasonable. The game I commented on was a very winnable team, where poor tactics lost it for Canada.

Honestly you should post less. Every single thing you post is angry and pointed at someone. I am merely asking questions and trying to help open up conversation. Does everything everyone say need to align with your thoughts or opinions?The NT and U21 programs in the past have been community run with lots of support from outsiders. You can witness this still with the NT program.

Do you ever wonder why Sparkys rating is so low or why he has so little support? Well let me help you figure it out, your his issue. All of your venom spewing is pretty tiresome and driving people away from having anything to do with the team.

As for hating you...dream on. That is reserved for people I actually care about. To be frank, I find your act pretty comical :)

Damn, people. Calm down. We all want U21 to do well and are all here to help.
No reason for personal attacks like that. I understand that you are trying to defend your boy, but noone is attacking him!
This is a great win, and lots of people congratulated him on that in this very thread. Why not stop at that and keep going for more wins such as this one?
Why take questions of other managers as attacks? Why compare results and ratings of U21 and NT?
What is the point on all of that?

Beanerz has got a point here. You are way too defensive and are attacking everyone that tries to have any input on U21 (and yes, such input does involve questionning decisions and disagreeing with manager). This is not the way to go.
There are over 200 users in Canada. Only 20-30 seem to be active enough to post on the forum. Its quite possible that the rating came from some new users, seeinga walkover or weak result, pressing negative, and then not bothering to change.
This rating truly doesnt matter at this point. What matter is getting community involved, getting players to be trained properly, and we all want those things to happen so stop jumping at people's throat

IMHO when we start doing this, we all look poor. Other nations who might peruse this forum must be having themselves a great laugh. I've heard more enlightening conversations on a primary school playground.

The games, the players, the tactics... everything else just shelf it. Resist the urge to post nonsense. The internet is already way too full of it.

Why we forfeit a free win and wasted enthusiasm against Jamaica and why we're playing patient offence in competitive games (including a bad loss) warrants explanation. Beanerz made the most innocent plea ever and you jumped at him -- and honestly, this happens every time you're questioned.

Look at pp/100 and shot distribution and then consider the huge jump in ratings they'd have if they didn't miss two GDP. Instead of our PG position scoring <50 points on <35 shots they may have scored well under 30 points on 35 shots. Patient is an outside isolation offence and we have no capable players for it. With every player shooting worse, we'd have gotten less rebound share, etc.

Absolutely a better than 50% we'd have lost that if they didn't GDP in my opinion. And again, this is Ecuador with like 6 users...

Because he made a mistake
he was working on so many things he finally checked a minute too late
just as all of us have done from time to time

as for the rest, I was clearing up some BS

without going into chapter and verse
Beanerz clearly called the lad out for not responding
then when he was called out, he wrote instead that he got back to him too late
please...that you guys don't understand my frustration with some of the things that others do is beyond me
he really did need to apologize but wrote it off because I'm the only one who upsets people

I never said he was right with patient or originally not going with the better coach's plan and lineup
But you should know that despite what you may think, I let him run the ship himself
he doesn't always listen to my advice.

That being said, you gave his win no respect.
You were wrong.
They were partially winners because of many things he did to impove the players:
He hounded Beauchemin's owner to fix GS
hounded him to even out his skills
there were many who told him that the player should not be on the team
well he was big in crunch time, 15 RB 6 ORB and Canada's top game rating

You all need to be a little more understanding and a little less critical
maybe it would be better to bbmail the lad with advice

Bottom line...Until the lastest brou-haha there was almost no interaction at all

100% agreed, Sparky made a mistake, we all do and it truly is not a big deal (this is a game). Well done on the latest win and use the momentum to keep Canada moving forward in what will hopefully be a positive path.
