We first changed the supporter page because it was essential to avoid losing payments. Since we are using a new company, payments would have been lost if they were directed to the old company, which is closing its bank accounts. This change had to be implemented urgently. Additionally, the previous checkout system did not collect VAT or taxes on purchases, which was not fully compliant with legal requirements. We have now implemented a system that manages these complexities. This change was necessary to avoid losing money or facing legal issues.
Some of you have mentioned the change of color on the supporter menu. I don’t think it’s a significant change requiring much attention. We simply wanted to highlight the supporter page because it’s thanks to supporters that BuzzerBeater is running!
I know new ownership can be scary and every change or update we do will be criticized. Let me briefly explain why we made those changes in the first place and quickly, and for future updates before making any conclusions it is better to wait to see the full picture.
That’s perfectly fine but probably something that should bear a brief announcement.
A change of color and bold. As a supporter I find it distracting and ugly. It’s a change to get more clicks which once again is not completely bad but this disingenuity and double speak is what’s not winning support.
While people can be needlessly skeptical at times and a change in ownership has its difficulties this introduction to the community has been off to a rough start and doesn’t help any attempts to “wait to see the full picture”
