Nah, just a bit slow at work so I had time to consider and provide a reasonable answer to the question. I understand how this game works, there are always a few unexpected surprises that pop up but generally speaking, you can see how things will most likely play out.

By the way, Sid tanking this season is not one of those "unexpected surprises" (as it won't happen), nor is him buying in a championship team after the ASG (once it occurs). :-)

I like your spirit Jack, nothing wrong with that.

Of course I am speculating but I don't see the harm in making a couple of posts which might spark a bit of banter. I'm also intrigued to see how close to or far off the mark I am. I'm definitely feeling confident that it's more "close to" rather than "far off" though. Time will reveal all!

I've just been looking through the rosters of all the teams in the Big 8 and I must say, that is one tough league! To think at this stage that even one of the teams is guaranteed to demote and two others will be battling in relegation games, is amazing. West Indies and Cunning Liniguists (soz lads, had to pick someone) look to me to be the current teams in any doubt and not by any great margin either. No room for anyone to make any mistakes or it could be the difference between Div II and Div III. Maybe HA will find it in his heart to do you all a favour and take the auto relegation spot...

Vios your spending more time studying, analysing and theorising my every move, than what I do actually making the moves.

Very lucky to win against Awesome. Home court advantage is worth a lot more than the 3 points I won by

Previously I had my team rated as a 3 to 1 chance of winning the championship, I now rate myself as a 5 to 1 chance (against).

Now that I don't have a team of my to over analyse and study, I need to focus on somebody's team. Who's better than your's? :-D

That was a very close game for sure, Sundae said he played TIE, so that means you did too. Risky move, thought for sure you'd have wanted to lock that one up.

Well you do know me better than I know myself, so I guess I made a mistake being me, by only playing TIE

Sorry to dissapoint you, I will try harder in the future to play this game to your expectations of me

Reality is the Awesomes team is currently better than mine.

Also stuffed up being me by setting the attendance prices too high. Even should I win my cup game I will lose 45K this week

Much appreciate Vios if you can give me some advise as to how the real me "should play" my next week.

Also Vios I dont think that you will tank this season. Deep down you know that you need to be in the same league as me

It would be my pleasure. TIE vs Corio, hopefully u get an easy Cup and TIE, then normal vs the Moose.

Glad to help out Sid! :-P

no offence taken, i had a look at the numbers the other day and realised that i was about $100k difference between my starting lineup and South gisbornes starting lineup. so you said it, its going to be very tough this year.

in saying all that, ive got a $13k SG averaging 25pts @ 57% from the first 2 games. go figure.

I think the biggest challange isnt the players/salaries, its the fact that everyone has decent arena sizes. I think the smallest arena on this side of the league is the Vipers.... Corio and HA both have 20k, and all the recent promotees from this season AND last season have bigger arena's than me - although 1000 seats about to be added for me in next few days.
so yer, everyone is making decent money on this side. and thats where the challange lies.

I just had a look at that. CT + HCA vs TIE, that's nasty. Though I have Linguists as one of the weaker teams in B8 (not saying much though), certainly not struggling at the minute! Top of the conference and 2-0.
