our previous game where we didn't do that we lost horribly. Then again, we improved our enthusiasm. We were coming with really bad enthusiasm in.

And yes, there aren't many PG around... ask the NT21 what options he has

the starting PG that i've used a couple of times with the U21's looks pretty good at this pont for a 20 yr old pg. if he gets alot of training focus he should help the full national team by the time he's 22 i hope. he currently is playing in Germany in the top division there. also the guy i've used at backup pg a couple of times is 21 already and close to the other guy, but a year older. he is playing in US division III right now on a strong team.

i would love to be able to find another really strong pg, but haven't at this point. hopefully a good 19 year old or another 20 year old will pop up to fill end after the 21's move on after qualifying this season.

I applaud you for taking the high road, but I think you've dodged the question. Yes, we're not loaded with PGs, but Dupré put up a considerably better rating as a sub. I'm sure Joly could handle PG as well and you could slot in someone else at SG.

Starting Bussières and the R&G auto-tactics both give the appearance that you're mailing it in here.

Oh, by no means do i mail anything

what would my reasons be?

I'm trying my best.

And yes, a little shuffling is possible, indeed.

I am fine with the offensive tactics (maybe we can lull some team into playing a 1-3-1 and breakout a look inside), but I am unaware of any player who should be playing (much less starting) in inept game shape for a first division Canadian team. So not sure how one could start for a national team even if there are no other true point guards.

Wasn't enthusiasm reset right before this game?

Only for the teams that automatically qualified. The second-chance qualifiers only had the reset from the beginning of the season.

I've been thinking and thinking and thinking about this....
I didn't make a mistake by overlooking game shape, I just really believed he was still the best choice at start.
My formulas I use are pretty good, however they might be a little off when it comes to really low game shape...
Even now, trying to set the team in an optimum way, I still get him showing up as best option, even though he is still in inept shape.

I tried contacting the owner, but i got no response from him in more than a week

I would like to discuss with somebody that has more experience with very low game shape.

The player ratings are a pretty blunt instrument, for sure... but Bussières is only putting up 7.0-8.0 lately. Given that his owner plays the same tactics with the same enthusiasm every single game, we have a pretty well-controlled experiment. Bussières was putting up a 10.5 at the start of the season, an estimate of ~70% effectiveness for inept game shape seems about right.

There's no way we can't find someone who's 70% the player that Bussières is... maybe work with our U21 coach. Hopefully we can find someone to fill in for our other injured and out of form guards, too.
