Is there a natural amount of time that people play this and then the magic is gone? Or is it BB lack of development? Are there things that people want out of the game (beyond more responsiveness from devs) that is really lacking and would rekindle interest? WB specifically I guess - is there something that would get you to invest cold hard dollars again, or is it just old hat?

I have been working on a BB game engine thingy off and on over the last little while that does stuff like championship manager in terms of graphics of each play in real time or whatever, but honestly the drive isn't there to do much with it because ultimately it would be BB + visuals of watching the game. There are some things I would want to change about BB (transfer market, salaries set on demand ala real life basketball) but that doesn't change much about the game itself... I would like trades but don't see how that would be workable in a game of thousands.

I love all sorts of simulation/management/strategy games. Online, offline, sports, business, city builder etc you name the genre, I would probably like it. Problem with BB isn't the actual game concept but more to do with game play. Things like server instability, game engine imbalance in skills and tactics. I've seen some that would like the game to relate more to real life scenarios. Trading is a great idea but difficult to implement, current training restrictions could change although it does provide a unique way to play this game. I suppose turning an idea to reality sometimes might not be possible.

Anyways, I'm sure there's lots more to rant or "give good constructive criticism" but at the end of the day resources is the key to further develop this game and I don't know how much is reinvested. I've semi play this game for over the last 2 years and I haven't felt much changes made to make me move to invest and with the player base slowly dwindling, it doesn't exactly help either way.

I love these games too. Have you played Dynasty Manager 15 on iPad? It's really cool.

On another note, check this box score...

Prodigious (low) ID? And I still couldn't stop him! He has some serious fire-power there!

They keep making knee jerk reactions. Like the changes to players being fired and not going off contract. Sure a few young guys have stayed around but I have seen 32 year old 100k players be fired and then retire. Hense the hug increase in the player market.
I almost did not renew supporter. If it was not for the NT stuff I probs would of let it go.

To be fair, you did 'stop' his side from scoring, but Diego Saucedo out-bricking Brickvaric meant that your team couldn't take advantage.

I find that a Patient offence where the PG or SG takes the majority of shots is doomed to struggle for points. With that in mind, I'm thankful to have escaped with a win against Guanzheng despite Hampshire taking the most shots instead of Palmeri as I had intended...

Yes, sometimes got to let the game balance itself out slowly since we can really only train 3-6 players whereas other similar sports management games you can train a whole squad of 15-40 players where 1 fired player would have less impact.

Hey lordy if you could create something like this but have it easily managed on an online interface then I would pay a yearly subscription for it.

All you would have to do is update the database yearly according to new player contracts and salaries, NBA salary caps and new rookies.

I remember reading that and thinking how great it would be. I have never really thought about doing it myself though, just because Yahoo and ESPN have their own (huge) sites. I'll have a think about it and see how much work it is, thanks for the idea.

You might run into some copyright issues with the NBA.

And getting daily data for real life games and putting into your interface daily might be a challenge. So you are right about needed huge resources like Yahoo or ESPN to pull this off.

But if its similar and its doable then it could be a hit.
