That's interesting, and I was thinking about doing this, only for my team.
Derbies are always a (non-logical) special game. Be the first in your country is sometimes better than being 2nd in the world :D
I know, it´s same 2 points you can get from it and no more, but it's still in some way even more meaningful and important match!
Even if you do it only for your team, all these kind of things have potential to start everyone else doing similar kind of things, or get the ideas flowing, which potentially can turn into something concrete later on. :)
Absolutely, it's always the way of how you decide to perceive things - and as HG and HGL teams, the more creative we can get, the more success we can experience we've had. For me statistics are very important, and source of inspiration in one way.
That doesn't mean we could magically create statistical success that isn't there, but like you implied, even though WMO currently hold the highest success in HGL due to finishing 4th on Season 1, if you´d be the leader of "French HGL league table", that would give you joy (and would be interesting read for many, and would allow them to follow how many wins they are currently trailing, etc.).
I mean statistics is something, in which most teams can find some positive aspects (at least on some sectors) - or if not currently positive, at least something to improve on later, and statistics/records also have a potential to give all teams goals for future!
EDIT: It would also be interesting to make a following of a team records season by season (possibly including playoff success), so that we could see win (and possibly winning-%) development from season to season. Presenting this with a clear manner with BB text editor could prove to be challenging though..
So in which format that could/should be made is another thing. One intuitive example below on how it could look like per each team, or then we could simplify list wins to make it slightly more easily readable (but it doesn't work if amount of games/teams in HGL change from season to season), or separate RS and PO success to different tables, etc. (if such table would be created).
Note, that I added my team records four times in a row to reveal how it might look like when multiple teams would be listed - all these kind of tables easily start to look a bit messy and it's important to note that only 2 seasons are included (and it would be intention to make a long time follow-up table instead):
