2) I think we could consider adding in things like this if we looked at everything and thought the most valuable players were not realy getting to the worst teams, or the teams that invested more in scouting reliably. I'm not SURE this is happening at the moment... certainly it CAN happen, but it does happen in real life too in some respects.... but its a question of how often it should happen.

at the end of season 8 i was piking 8 in my league the league had one of her best drafts yet and invested 40k per week i think for the all 14 weeks or atlist 12 full weeks i have resived rubbish information from a draft of i think 5 guys with superstar potential and over i got one 5 stars potential scouted with 4 skilles balls the rest of them wear worthless and you know what he was? a SG with 1 OD and superstar potential i end up selling 2 out of my 3 peeks and fireing the last one with the maising profit of 56k now you tell me that a team who invest 40k a week for 12+ weeks and chose 8 in the league get nothing from the draft ?

i dident ask for the best player but i am asking for more risnble draft system the corent draft system counts way to much on luck so if you invest money and have a good number (and 8 is a fine number not the best but ok) you shoud get something in return

otherwise keep uo the good work Nir (:

I think the draft engine is ok. I think that the team placed in the last place should have better condition to get better picks and I think that is already being done with the inverse pick order.

Of course I don't expect that a team in last place with no money invested in the draft will get better picks than a team in last place that invested at least the minimum during the season.

tbhe problem is that even if you invest 20k/week you can't be 100% sure to have a great draft and even imho the draft sould be more funny if you can "see" week by week the progress of your young players getting better and more precise info about skills or at least stats. At the end I will prefer to change the all star game with a matches between the young players where you can follow your young players but probably this idea is good for a fantasy game

The draft is one of the ways to help equalize between teams in a league, as the weaker teams in the league will typically get better draft picks than the better ones. We're overall pretty happy with the draft pools and where players end up, although we review the mechanics of how players are scouted on a regular basis to see if we can find improvements.

So in essence the main reason the draft exists is to equalize between the stronger and weaker teams in the league, and the implementation of the draft is geared only to try and reach that goal.
That is fine, but the problem is that, while the current draft system may achieve that goal, it is undeniably an extremely boring system for all teams involved, the weaker and the stronger ones, because, aside from deciding how much to invest (and maybe changing it once or twice a season) and taking the 5 minutes to order a list of players (the majority of which for obvious reasons are completely useless), you don't do anything at all for the remaining 14 weeks. I'm sure that even the teams that don't end up with any decent players would find a more interactive system to be more stimulating, again, regardless of the final pick. Even if I pick last in the draft, and have no hope of picking a star, I still would like to see a deeper scouting system, I would still love to see more meaningful information on the scouted players, and I would love to have some kind of input on what the scouts actually do.
The problem with the current system is that, while it obviously reaches the goal it has in mind, in many (most?) cases, it does so at a very large cost in terms of gameplay experience for many users, because the teams with the better records just decide to completely ignore the draft, which makes sense from an economical and strategical point of view, but it obviously take away from the general BB-playing experience. And it takes away what should be a VERY important aspect. Deciding, for example, to ignore the specialists or the national teams or the forums or any other "marginal" aspect of the game is fine, but being forced to ignore what should be a KEY aspect of the game, IMO, is absolutely not acceptable.
I'm curious to know, aside from the actual results of the draft, meaning the talent in the draft pools and where the players end up, if you or the other BBs find the entire draft process to be a fun part of the BB-experience, or if you agree with the many MANY users that think that part of the game desperately needs a makeover.

I think i agree with you that the draft could be a cooler feature, I don't want to speculate too much on which ideas I think would make it a cooler feature because they are all dramatically different from we have now, not tweaks to the settings in the existing system, but we have no immediate plans to implement any of these... and whenever we say "oh i think this would be cool" it gets taken as a promise that we will do that.

That's good to hear, since we agree on that point. (I absolutely understand the need to not share any ideas that aren't going to be immediately (or at least in the near future) implemented.)

I agree with you,but i Think that however, while you are working to make a different great system, you can work to improve some things,if you read any discussion in the forum suggestion, about this arfgument, you'll find many ideas not so impossible to do with the current system

The most commonly discussed suggestion is adding additional pieces of information to scouting (e.g. height), or making it possible to see scouted players on a weekly basis. Neither of these is likely to happen with the current draft system in place.

I think Svett's got a tremendous idea here - the Box Scores are one of my favourite elements of draft scouting, and it really would be tremendous to see more of them, especially as they're useless enough that they wouldn't unbalance things.

But it's possible to improve the quality of second informations,as wrote in the suggestion thread about draft,so there could be an impulse to investing something more in drafting process
