or a simple line "Experience: atrocious" (pitiful, awful....). that would catch some attention to a more experienced player's post.

Division is far more important than rating or number of balls. Except be wary of the number of divisions in the country. For example division 2 in Australia is far better than division to in Japan.

Sometimes its better to close you mouth and remain silent than to open it and be thought a fool.

Not in this case. What did I write that wasn't true? I didn't say division was a perfect representation of who to give more credit to. I just said it is a better representation than number of balls which is correct. And australia div 2 is better than japan div 2 by a mile, so nothing foolish about what I wrote.

It's another imperfect representation of quality. Not better, not worse than number of balls.

Not exactly. If someone in Australia has made it from division 4 to division 1 they obviously know something about the game. And they might not be active on the forums so only have 3 or 4 balls. Where as maybe someone else is more active but is in div 4 in australia and has 40 balls. If both of them posted advice in a thread then personally I would give more credit to the post made by the guy in div 1. Doesn't mean he is right, I'm just saying I'd be more inclined to follow what he said that someone in div 4 even if he has a few more balls.

I sort of agree. It has been said many times that BB is a marathon not a sprint and this is true. However when some players start the marathon 10 seasons earlier than others it doesn't mean that they are actually better managers. In the old days you could have players in the top leagues with $5,000 salaries as starters while money flooded in. If anyone started 10 seasons ago and they are even slightly competent they should be in an upper league.

Meanwhile there could be the most brilliant manager in BB in division IV in USA because he only started 3 seasons ago. So no I don't think division is a good guide.

However to defend Naker, he wasn't having a go at Japan at all, obviously there are several brilliant managers in Japan, however I understand that division II is the lowest there so a division II player in Japan may have started playing yesterday while a division II player in Austaliia will have played at least two seasons. That doesn't mean the Australian coach is better, not at all, not one bit, it just means you are guaranteed a certain level of experience from the Australian division II coach, even though he may be a total moron.

I think we all need to be a little more tolerant of stupid and incorrect answers.

It's the internet and a community after all.
