Because if your best player who takes most of the shots has bad GS, your team will be terrible.

I think we all agree that good GS is better than bad GS... All I was saying is that your statement that your team has good GS is irrelevant for the choice of tactics.

Hey again. I know some managers who have tried to specifically design their teams for specific offences which includes:

* obviously several teams with all high IS to play LI

* great passing teams that play motion

* teams with mismatches and good passing (so big men with great JS and JR as well as guards with great IS) so that they can play patient with great effect

* teams with great driving, passing, handling, IS and JS players to play motion - there was a famous team in Australia run by a female manager that exclusively ran it and was very sucessful

Most common by far is the LI option because the players needed are a dime a dozen and it is super easy to create and manage the team and because the supposed counter the 2/3 zone is busted (yes I know BB-Charles if we all had players with prodigious SB it would work fine but we don't).

i would rate OD at the big higher then SB for the 2-3, because i had some good succes with the 2-3 zone and no good shot blocker. And i don't say OD values in double digits.

IMO IS has little to do with LI success, because it has little to do with success of inside shots. It is a factor.....but in my experiments, like running LI today and watching what happened with my players shooting....IS was not as important for success as other things. Not at all.

I totally disagree with that one. IS is (in my opinion) the most important skill to make LI work well.

I've beaten better teams playing low post m2m vs look inside m2m a couple of times...
I choose princeton however, had great success with it as an outside tactic, works better for my team then motion atleast...

That's weird.
To me that's viceversa. Princeton works like hell, while with motion I had some pretty good matches against stronger teams...

Anyhow... my question remains valid:why doesn't anyone trust the new tactics?

The new offencive tactics are for teams who have one solid player. Most of the forum visitors tend to gather a team instead of having just one superstar. I have used 4+1 defences against a few teams with a clear single scorer and they work well. Their usage is very situational, just like 1-3-1 or 2-3.
