Great win tonight and great answer.

I agree that salary and DMI does not win games but when you cannot see the TSP of players (which only you can) that is all you have to go on. We all know how misleading DMI is but it is a reflection of the sublevels of GS and in that way a careful tracking of it can be informative.

You can see easily on Konoe that he has holes. Some I am working on others I never will. He was drafted with very low skills and at 6'0" his path was made. As you know I wanted to make Konoe a great driver so he would be useful in a LI offence, I haven't trained JS for seasons but a lot of DR training also raised his JS very high. I cannot be sure but I suspect he would be the highest or second highest JS + DR on the team.

Defence as you know I am doing this season but already his OD + ID is better than the other guards I have seen on the TL. I wish I had recorded them. Even compared to Atsuhiro Horiguchi he has the same combined OD + ID as well as 15 more TSP. You say you like ID on guards I wonder haw many on the team have more ID than Konoe? I suspect not more than 1 or 2.

I have tried to read all the rules but still I am not sure about capping. You say Konoe is near his cap and may cap this season and I think the same based on salary but I have the "BB Salary Calculator / Season 17 by moutlinho" and I don't know if I trust it or not but it say he is just 1 pop into star from starter and can still get many many pops especially in PA which will be the next priority after OD before he caps, if it is correct he has 2 more seasons of training.

Don't worry about Kyubei it is best that he only trains when I do 2 position now so I can concentrate on Takayoshi Kawagichi. There are better players on the team than Kyubei. If TSP is your measure he is way down at the level of Atsuhiro Horiguchi (exact same number) although he has better potential but Horiguchi is a whole season younger. It is funny that at just 19 Takayoshi Kawagichi is already not far behind on 71 TSP and with NT level potential.

I look forward to seeing Konoe on the floor next week doing what he does best driving to the basket and scoring.

Your response is much appreciated, thank you.

11/18/2011 Pressure for PG
Daisaku Kawaida ↑popped↑ in Outside Def. from samuari to ninja.
Noritada Konoe ↑popped↑ in Outside Def. from ronin to samuari.

So good news for 1 U21 player and 1 ex-U21 player with fantasies about the NT someday.

Well we won but so we should against UAE who are ranked 30 below us but we actually lost the first half because you wont play the best team and again you have persecuted my player Konoe and left him out of the team so I cannot celebrate the fact that in the end we did come back and win.

Was his salary too low?
Nope 4th highest in the team and you played people with half his salary.

Was his DMI too low?
Nope 7th highest on the team and you played a lot of people with much lower.

Was his GS too low?
We had a long discussion about this and I explained exactly why it would have to take a hit this week and drop to respectable so I could win a critical game and get him 48+ minutes at PG for training so he would pop in OD which he did. But you played several other players at respectable GS. Takayama, Hirata and Torisei got to play.

Direct head to head at SG.
You had at starter:

Hironobu Yokotami (18297126)
Point Guard
Weekly salary: $ 16 829
DMI: 186700
Age: 21
Height: 6'0" / 183 cm
Potential: superstar
Game Shape: strong

Probably a good choice for the high passing in a LI offence.

But then at backup you have:

Hideyuki Honda (19825316)
Point Guard
Owner: Baikinman
Weekly salary: $ 11 786
Role: regular starter
(BuzzerBeta)
DMI: 92800
Age: 20
Height: 6'2" / 188 cm
Potential: perennial allstar
Game Shape: strong

Makoto Asada (19990551)
Small Forward
Owner: Miyazaki Freeters
Weekly salary: $ 10 433
Role: rotation player
(BuzzerBeta)
DMI: 80500
Age: 21
Height: 6'0" / 183 cm
Potential: MVP
Game Shape: strong

Instead of

Noritada Konoe (18297019)
Shooting Guard
Owner: Kyoto Shogun
Weekly salary: $ 17 480
Role: regular starter
(BuzzerBeta)
DMI: 104600
Age: 21
Height: 6'0" / 183 cm
Potential: allstar
Game Shape: respectable

Before I heard you make some argument about wanting to play players with potential. But you are happy to play this player...

Takayoshi Fukushima (18297014)
Small Forward
Owner: Baikinman
Weekly salary: $ 13 597
Role: rotation player
(BuzzerBeta)
DMI: 79300
Age: 21
Height: 6'8" / 203 cm
Potential: star
Game Shape: strong

Less potential, less salary and less DMI.

I can only assume that these belong to your friends and that is the reason for your bias. After seasons of training this is his one season to shine but it is being stolen by you. Up to now I have supported you but I see I made a huge mistake. I am very upset by this situation.

Thank you again for the good reply, it is lucky that you are always more calm than me. I haven't looked up the tactics used by the other managers but I can tell you mine. Konoe has played mostly PG which is not his best position on a team that has played princeton 1 time and LI 4 times. None of these help his shooting %. If I was playing motion or run and gun he would be hitting a much better %.

Even looking back at last season he hit a much better 31-94 3 PT shots (33%), the season before that 25-77 (32%) and the season before over 40%. Since I bought Sonoda the team focus has shifted and I read your recent experience with guards missing shots when you play LI. Same for Konoe. Same for Hirata, Honda and Asada who combined for 3-15 in the NT game.
