Like already noted, there's no change to arena seat pricing in D4. But also, there's no maintenance cost for your arena. So in many respects, it's better to start early with the expansion, so that you can immediately start reaping the benefits.

Also, there's the promotion bonus to attendance, which lasts ~1/2 or slightly more of the season. Now, if you keep winning, it's not a big deal, because you'll keep filling your arena. But it's possible that you'll have consecutive home games during the first intraconference portion of the schedule, and then one less during the second part, at the end of the season. In that case, you'll certainly want to have already expanded your arena. Honestly, if you have 600K already right now, I'd put 300K of that into the arena, with something like 750 bleachers and 200 lower tier. That'll leave you money to pick up some veterans at decent prices after the playoff deadline comes. Next season when you're in D4, you can see how your team is doing, and either pick up some more players if you're stuggling, or plow the rest into the arena.

One suggestion is to check the 'attendance helper' under the 'team tools' after you log into the USA database (bb-usa.host22.com). Entering the number of seats you have (or will build) and switching to D4, you can get a decent idea of the relationship between seat prices and attendance. I'd suggest going a bit over the recommended ideal price, because that doesn't adequately account for the promotion bonus. That will help you reap more revenue from your arena.

Here's our league's average weekly economy stats:

Player Salaries: $ 101 087 Attendance: $ 100 880
Staff Salaries: $ 55 021 Merchandise: $ 19 377
Scouting: $ 7 857 TV Contract: $ 67 151
Total: $ 163 965 Total: $ 187 408
League Average Net Income: $ 23 443

I spent most of the season at ~80K total player salary, and currently I'm leading my conference. But of course you know that salary is not a great metric for determining player performance. But just about all of my players were 7-10K weekly salary. And they were fine. And three of those guys were my main trainees.

If you're set to promote, I'd suggest getting ready to put a good chunk of that cash reserve into your arena. Then, after the playoff eligibility deadline, I would look to pick up some cheap veterans, especially for depth.

Note you'll also receive a 200K promotion bonus when the season turns over. I put my entire bonus into my arena, and and glad I did.

I'll second what Sharkboy said.

Our league averages in IV.41:
League Averages from Last Week
Expenses Revenue
Player Salaries: $ 118 203 Attendance: $ 120 426
Staff Salaries: $ 44 056 Merchandise: $ 20 230
Scouting: $ 11 250 TV Contract: $ 68 018
Total: $ 173 509 Total: $ 208 674
League Average Net Income: $ 35 165

The part about finding quality veterans after the playoff deadline is advice that is absolutely outstanding. The demand should be much lower at that point and hopefully you will find players that will fit well. I'd encourage trying to get well-rounded players at good salary points rather than monster salary guys with major holes in their game, too. There's a lot of bang for your bucks that way.

You also definitely want to improve the arena, since that's the foundation of your economy.

Here are more IV economies.

But you must know what type of D.IV you are going in, some are fairly easy while others are pretty hard.

As my pooster said before, money invested in the arena would be a smart and more succesful move midterm and longterm. Also you should put more attention into it already, your bleacher prices are way to low for your capacities, also you lower tie and court side seats are always sold out with your entrys fee which is an sign that you most likely get more money if you ask for higherprices. So i would raise the entry fee drastically*, in those categorys and also build extra seats.
The price for the luxury box, are ok when you promote if not you could reduce then a bit.

Also a thing i would change are your staff, the level 4 trtainer is imho the cost effective trainer so you did a good job getting him. But for the other i would uprage a bit to get one with a speciality(massage and since you won't be a championshipteam, the extra homecourt bonus from the pr). Maybe even level 3 could make sense, but especially on the PR such discussion are more religious then based on facts.

* orientate at teams witha comparabel situation, maybe you could check out the team who is promoted before you. And if you don't find a match for your team, it is much easier to find the right prices when you start to expensiv since you could makes your estimate on the amount of free seats. Also i think to high prices, don't make you loose so much money then to low ones.
