19k. And don't involve trainer in this. No point. All other things being equal, maximizing profit from trainees was the topic.

So if you and I have same level trainer with same salary etc. after one season I have 600k in my pocket. After 2 seasons maybe 1,2M. And you can try to sell your fresh trainee for 1,2M after 2 seasons but I'm not sure you'll be able to do that.

So, like I said. This is the fastest way to get money from trainees.

Everything you said about maximizing profit is fine, and I agree. But what I am quoting is off.

you`re being too picky and splitting hairs, relax. I don`t count my trainers salary in terms of offlaying it against any money I make on selling my trainees. Is it really necessary to be so facetious? The guy answered my questions perfectly.

You didn't pay for them so it's free. Both you and me will pay salaries, trainers etc. so that's irrelevant. That's a constant. What is a variable is how much money you get and spend. At the end of the season you'll have good young draftee and I'll have 600k from selling. I can sign a player for those 600k and I'll get better player then your trainee. So it's kind of a free upgrade if you like. Don't you think?

But what I am quoting is off.

I didn't say it's free. The topic is complex. Too many factors you don't think of and you're quoting one sentence taken from the context so it kind of tired me. :)

It is not really a facetious question. If you were not training at all you would spend 2k x 10 weeks (I think that's the minimum salary), so there is a real cost of say $15k per week for 10 weeks or 150k. if you're training anyway, you can ignore the cost but if you are training purely for profit you have to consider the full cost.

I have always trained players. Three of my five starters are players I have trained (front court) and some of my bench are players I have trained. I now need to make some money form doing it.

Yes there is the cost of training
but there is another side to training that reduces the cost
the player you have is always under-valued
the better a trained player gets, obviously the better he performs
but his salary doesn't go up until after the season
so you might end up with a $10,000 player playing like a $30,000 player
one you won't have to buy at playoff time
you'll already have him
