Yes, but my last home game was - as bananmat pointed out - in the POs where the attendance usually is slightly higher. I don't see why teams that go deep into the POs and pay full salaries should not get at least that small "bonus" where the calculations of the OET use the last home-playoff-game...

btw: I don't really understand (and have never understood) why the attendance in the final game of the best-of-three series is not sold out and has a smaller audience than the first game even though it's the most important game of the season ... but that's just a small thing besides the "main" suggestion ...

I must admit that I do find the small gate for the last home game to be annoying

But not annoying as the fact that the last home gate is used throughout the finals series for the calculations of the over extension tax.

My Utopian team went 21 W & 1 L during the regular season but my gates slipped from $211,351 at a peak, down to $165,420 for the last home game, thus meaning that my team was paying an extra $23 K a week in over extension taxes during the finals series plus added interest on debt

It would be very nice if something could be done about those issues

I think what a lot of managers do is carry enough money so they don't have any OE tax.

Proposing that playoff game attendance and revenue be used instead of the last regular season game is an interesting thought, though. On one hand it makes sense, but on the other hand it has an element of "the rich get richer."

Hey if a person makes acquisitions based on his current gate of $211 K and 4 or so weeks later it drops to $166 K despite him having only lost the one game during the regular season, & then that low gate which is the very last gate of the home and away season is used to determine the over extension tax during the entire finals system, one I believe does have a right to feel cheated.

Also when some one buys up to promote, it doesn't neccesarily mean that the acquisitions were rentals as that person may very well intend to hold on to them in the higher league

But if he does it repeatedly, knowing that is how it works, is he still cheated, or just not too bright?

Quite true, quite true. The off season is sometimes a time to find players to hold long term, at fair prices.

If its within the rules how is it cheating?

If it enables a person to promote how are they not so bright?

C'mon, man, get a cup of coffee and read the post again, please. You mentioned feeling cheated, not cheating. And you were complaining about being blindsided by the OET, not promoting.
