There was a rumour that some players tend to get fouled more often 

It was announced on the forums by one of the bb's a few years ago that there is a hidden aggressiveness trait that influences certain players to be more physical, which causes both fouls against them and injuries due to excessive contact. Can't find the thread in question, but can comfortably say it is more than a rumour. In saying that, it was more about the player causing fouls rather than receiving them, and in this players case, he doesn't seem to foul out consistently enough to suggest he is a serial fouler.

Averaging 1.0 per game, maybe he has had a good run and was due for a few bad games.

Guarding driving(players) needs ID more than OD to stop him depending on his driving skills, he will get past the Od everytime . Now a zone can do that( defend the driving), but again this depends on the next man skills in the zone. also the team passing lane defense( keep in mind in zone there no sure solid player to guard, If your team is caught slaking in the zone because they cant match the speed of the driving in the passing lanes ,a lot fouls will be called. because again every offensive tactic has choices. what ever is working it turn the heat or it s advantage. It could be sf doing the driving on your tea with high passing finding your guard in bad position... A pure nightmare for any team a passing sf

Watch your game closes you will see what im saying. I think ID 6 on guards is good enough and considered a minimum IMo, make your sure sb is at least 7 on guards. If not in those minimums you cant play any zones, to much team liability . The higher the better depending your league strength.


Probably I didn't understand something, but guards have much driving (at least 10) than ID (rarely over 10), so will they (PG vs PG) suffer everytime an inside offence?
For me, or better for what I've read, driving works on OD and ID works against IS.
Maybe OD works if the opponent starts driving from outside (DRvsOD) and ID is involved when the driving is near the basket (DRvsID).

In my scrimmage yesterday against a virutally equal opponent, my same PG got 3 fouls in 12 minutes. He didn't start, but obviously would have been gone in the 2nd qtr if he did. This is 3 games in a row after never happening before. I've used man and zone. Seems like there must be a change to the game. Or did my PG wake up one morning and decide he will foul on every possession?

Probably his girlfriend left him, his dog bit him and there were mouse droppings in his morning cereal. No wonder he is mad as a hornet.

Has your PG been defending superior players? And has he been fouling more on jumpers, drives or non-shooting fouls?

In one case maybe, in the other 2, not. More drives it seems, and almost all shooting fouls. My PG's relevant skills:
OD- 13
ID- 5
BLK- 1
STAM - 9
GS- 8/9
It's USA D4, and he leads the league in steals.

He may be playing opponents with higher DR/IS. I know there have been discussions about the correlations between DR/IS and OD/ID when it comes to drives.

I'd presume that the 1 in shotblocking is in some way a factor here.

I suppose. I just wish the BB universe would decide whether 1) point guards need to be great shot blockers or 2) you should never train PGs in shot blocking and if you try they will punish you with a 40% training penalty (and slow training due to height).

I should add that in my last game, the player in question scored 31 points, 8 assists, and just 1 foul. So he's OK again after 3 straight foul-outs. Wait...6-6-6. He's possessed!!
