We won in Luxembourg, but to be honest I'm slightly disappointed with a "mere" +27 point average. Which means we are ranked last of all the teams holding a 7 - 0 record, while I knew I couldn't hold long enough the advantage of finishing top ranked team, I had hoped to maintain HCA until the semifinals (that is, if we reach them).

Next week this is a crucial game against Greece, but I'm still not sure how I should face that one right now.

Win win everything tonight !

Our form was extremely poor for tonight's important game against Greece. Although we needed to maintain our record in order to retain HCA as long as possible for the rest of the tournament (op 4 was possible), it was decided to drop the game (thus ending top 8) in order to save TS in a game that couldn't be won.

I decided to go full GDP and take all possible risks on an anticipated LI from Greeks, which ... just happened !

A shiny victory it isn't for sure, and we had 2 players out on fouls, but the boys did it with lower enthusiasm.

Then another surprise : Netherlands defeat means we end 4th of the qualification, thus winning everything we might have tonight, a delightful feeling :)

Let's wait for the final rankings to be released, and see what opposition we will face next :) Hopefully, with a better form this time.

Our first game in the final round is against Slovenia. I was ... particularly unhappy about our current form, with 4/18 players at GS 9, only one of those being a regular starter. I was fearing the worst tonight :/

A rather comfortable win, well helped by a correct GDP. However, unless our game shape dramatically increases over the next weeks, I fear our adventure might come to an end sooner than expected :/

Next game against Hong Kong, who won against Portugal tonight in a highly uncertain game (http://www.buzzerbeater.com/match/34883/boxscore.aspx) once again at home. Don't feel bad about the ratings, there was 2 overtime before the game had it's winner :p

We're out.

With atrocious game shape worries for the 4th week in a row, most of which are totally impossible to understand, I had to take risks. Unfortunately, going 2 - 3 against an opponent who had never played outside for the past 2 years I get trapped. I take all responsibility for the defeat, but I had to do with particulary contrary circumstances. If our game shape had been better, I would have taken a less risky approach and we would have lived to fight another week.

Sorry :/

A good draw for Season 33, the 2nd place seems reachable!

Good luck

A good game by our NT, sadly we couldn't keep up at the 2nd half
Considering that we have GS issues and some injuries the result is ok

How satisfied are you with the next match-ups and what could we possibly achieve?

Completely forgot to put a comment on our last game agai,st Finland :

http://www.buzzerbeater.com/match/35279/boxscore.aspx

A loss of course, considering we couldn't play the way I wanted to, and form was probably the worst since the beginning. This is however, no big deal.

About the rest of the competition, there are no easy teams to pick up now. All teams are at least, stronger than us, at worst much better.

We can whether ensure we can win one game or 2 by playing ambushes on selected targets, or try qualify (!) by taking extreme risks, which also means we could end up with no wins.

To be honest I haven't made up my mind yet, I'll discuss with Joe and we'll decide over the course of action.

I want to make this crystal clear that qualifying was already an amazing feat, and finishing with no wins in the second round should, by no means, be considered as a failure.

One thing is absolutely certain however : if our form does not improve, we can simply forget about winning anything at all, because only 1 outside player at 9 GS is something that won't be easy getting over with.
