I had virtually no permanent injury with my previous doctor. I swapped for a new one and I got a 2 week injury the following game.

I think they should:
- make the injury time estimate more precise the better the doctor is (so lvl 7 doctor->1 day range, lvl 1 doctor->7 day range which is what we have currently irrespective of doctor)
- allow you to spend money on hospital fees/specialist treatments (once per injury) to reduce the injury time within some limits (for example you can reduce the injury time by 20%, which would normally be just a few days)

At least it would make doctors a bit more useful than just their massages.

Brilliant. I like this idea for 2 reasons.
1. game needs money sinks so people don't just tinker with market or horde.
2. Makes sense.

Doctors make a huge difference. Never have a doctor lower than 4.
Apart from that, injuries really suck and do not contribute for manager's motivations. I agree this is supposed to be a simulator and injuries happen in real life but this is not real life, this is something you do for pleasure while doing all the other stuff also called as "getting a life". Injuries don't add anything positive, they just bring negativity and frustration. It's not like training, which can be painfully slow but also can be extremely rewarding. Injuries just purely suck. They only don't suck when they happen to a rival, but that is the kind of thing that also suck. So I think injuries should just be abolished from this game, or reduced to 4 matches maximum, instead of 4 weeks maximum.

I hate injuries as much as the next man, but it's a part of the game. IRL, players contract serious injuries and are out for months or even the whole season. It might not be fun, however, that's a portion of the realism in BB, and I wouldn't want to see it being changed.

I agree with the Big Dogs. Injuries are a necessary component of the game. Like many have posted, I also am seeing more injuries in both my primary and Utopia teams this season than ever before, and so I understand the frustration, but I also enjoy the variability and surprises that come with having to adapt to these new circumstances.

Injuries are fine as long as they're not too crazy. Yeah, in real life, players can get season-ending (even career-ending) injuries... but I hate games that take it that far... minor injuries are fine though and shake the game up a bit.

It is harder to gracefully pull off in a game that has training each week and you have to play to grow any. Injuries tend to be easier to swallow in a game where your players' playing time doesn't affect their growth (such as some baseball sims I've seen). Another issue is how short the seasons are (compared to the 82-game NBA seasons for example) so every week really counts so much more.

Still, I can take a guy missing 1-2 weeks in a season. I don't find that too extreme to be discouraging at all.
